Not a hell of a lot, we went through RSPCA for our insurance because my sister works there. I think we have a limit of $11,000 per year with 80% reimbursement and no excess. This covers accidents and illnesses.

You get a discount if you have multiple pets on the policy too; I think it's only 10% but it all counts at the end of the day.

We pay for the Ultimate Cover level only because Angus is 9 next week and older big dogs generally have more problems, plus Greyhounds have well documented health issues with their joints and hips. I'd find that the basic cover would be enough for most normal inside dogs, which allows you to claim $7k a year. Only thing is it doesn't cover illnesses, only accidents.

EDIT: Maybe I do know a bit
Basic cover only lets you claim $7k a year in accident?

Yup. This is only RSPCA though, I'm sure your limits would be different with different companies.

They really engineer the basic packages so that no-one buys them and is forced to spend more on a larger policy. Such is business, I guess

Not sure if she's less impressed with her jumper or her new brother.
Sadly this little guy didn't find his forever home with us.

The rescue we got him from neglected to mention to us he had pretty bad patella luxation in one of his knees and early signs of it happening in another. They say their vet didn't pick it up but ours picked it immediately.

Pre-existing condition so insurance wont cover it and we can't afford the surgery. Very sad but wasn't meant to be.

Update on this, another family picked this little guy and he's since had the operation on his knee. He's going well, but it is looking likely he'll need more surgeries. :(

The good news is the family that picked him up is committed to him 100%.

As well our little one has been accepted into a doggy "school" starting next week.

Bus comes and picks her up at 8am, off she goes for a day of playing and training before it drops her off again at 5.30.

A part of me just went 'Naw, that's so cute!!!' whilst another part of me went 'For real? A bus will pick her up?'

Fiance has set it up, I'll be interested to see how it goes.

I'm going with my mum to see A Dog's Journey this afternoon. I've been spontaneously bursting out in tears the last few days just at the thought of going to see it. I'm sure at some stage I'm going to be blubbering mess.

Any movie wherein a dog dies, whether it be horror, action, rom com, whatever I switch it off and never go back to it.

The movie Dead Calm, I was enjoying immensely until the dog died. Switched it off.
John Wick, dog died, switched it off.
I am Legend. Walked out of the cinema.
Dances with Wolves. Off.

The children's movie from the 80's All dogs go to heaven destroyed my innocence.

Well that and pornography
