Training at the commercialish gym that I also go to and there’s one of those ‘design a program for everyone I have that day the morning of’ PT’s training a 18 year old kid. This kid is struggling with her circuit stuff and is doing hammer curls and has a full ******* banana bend in his body going on while she’s standing there and not saying anything.

They all do it.

PTs teaching squats that are barely bending the knees, saying Great job mate. Ridiculous

Escalation in my feud with one of the PTs at my gym.

She’s previously turned the fans off when I was mid workout and had an absolute hissy fit when I turned them back on. Whinging about the amount of rent she pays to be with her clients. I suggested her client should wear a jumper if they’re cold.

So then this morning she’s training 2 middle aged hags (said hags are wearing singlets and yoga pants) in the squat rack right next to the fan switch. I walk over and flick the fans on after my first working set as it’s pretty warm. By the time I’ve finished my next set she’s turned them back off again.

I notice she’s death staring me but instead of walking over and having beef with her I just took my singlet off and started my next set like nothing happened. Honestly keen to keep turning the fans on every time she’s working and either get her riled up about the fact the fans are on or that I don’t have a shirt on.

I am struggling to see a correlation between operating fans and paying rent. What a cow.

Did a shirtless you cause awkwardness amongst her and her group? lol.

There is no good reason for turning fans on during winter.

People who turn fans on should have their membership cancelled, and be physically removed from the weights area.

I'd go a step further and suggest a decent arse kicking in the car park.

Staff who are intimidated by meatheads into turning fans on, when they know full well they will freeze the introverts, should be instantly dismissed.

None of you hogging the squat rack for 3 hours are training so intensely that you need cold air blowing on you.

NONE!

She's of the opinion the because I'm just a member I should make way for her and her client because of the rent that she pays

I heard a few sfellows but they moved on pretty quickly

Which reminds me I forgot to mention the best bit, they moved from one side of the gym to the other (at which point I activated the fans and put my shirt back on) where there was a gym floor circuit training taking place.... AND THE FANS WERE ON!!!

So after making a big song and dance about the fans being off, they moved to the other side of the gym where the fans were already turned on.
Does the PT own the business/building?
No, literally just a PT
How selfish of them to not want the place to be blowing air everywhere in the middle of winter.
This would be a valid comment if the heating in the gym wasn't regularly set at bowels of hell levels of heat. Seriously gets up to 25-26 sometimes, utterly unbearable.

looks like we need a poll.

Fans?

Yes
No.

My gym does not have fans- its always at a nicely controlled temp- not too warm in winter, and is quite cool in summer.
In general tho, I would say yes to fans in summer, no in winter.

Things that annoyed me today in the gym: my runners are now giving me blisters. Was a slog getting thru the treadmill this afternoon.
