Big upset. Federer lost to Rublev in straight sets
Very surprising, Rublev was a qualifier though still a young upcoming player. I just didn't expect him to beat FedererYeah I didn't see that coming at all, very surprising result.
ATP should ban him for a month/s to protect the integrity of umpires. You just can't have that sort of abuse when you are doing your job.A ban is not going to reform his behaviour. It will just amplify his victim complex.
Serena should've been charged with bringing the game into disrepute after last year's US Open. But she's American, the crowd was American...Both Serena and Nick should've been suspended for verbally abusing an umpire. Imagine if this happened in any other sport
Went as expected.Kokk wins in Vancouver in time to likely get smacked by top seed Berankis in the quarters. Polmans is at the very opposite end of the draw.
Another easy win for Medvedev. He'd be 4th favourite for the US open at this point, playing consistently at a high level.
His game is pretty grinding, it will be hard to maintain for 2 weeks playing Bo5.No way a big guy plays this much tennis in the lead up and goes deep at a slam over Bo5. Just crazy scheduling IMO.
On thise. Heck, the pressure the big 3 put on the umpires to do what they want them to do sickens me. If you don't, then you never get to umpire one of their matches again. That should not happen. All of this is not right and it has to stop.
On this
Doesnt make it right.
Umpires should be fully independent of the players and should only answer to the ATP/WTA/ITF
**** me...I can't depend on Djoker to take advantage of the situation so I look forward to finding out who is the eventual winner.
Medvedev into the Worlds top 5.
Bailed after losing the first set. I'm surprised to be sitting here.So Bernie defending winning Chengdu this week.
Has to go through qualifiers and has Istomin first up.
Pretty stiff you don't get a WC for the tournament you won the year before, particularly when China are not exactly known for men's tennis players.
Bernie has 525 ranking points and is currently world 109.
250 of those points from Chengdu.
If he fails to qualify he will tumble to 184 in the world.
He hasn't played since retiring in Cincy, fair to say he is massively in the poop.
