  1. 100 page Strategic report,
  2. "we need to be a superpower"
  3. Sluggish rebuild 2016 -2019 (compared to Saints 2012 - 2019)
  4. "Skill deficiencies"
  5. "significant change required"

It is refreshing to see a club take an honest look at where they are at and make some really meaningful decisions to give themselves a shot at something different. Will it work? Who knows - but at least the club is not going to sit back for 8 years and accept mediocrity.

Meh I am glad Freo backed the Ross Lyon 2016-19 rebuild to be honest. No point sacking someone 2 years in a 4 year rebuild. My Opinion was Ross Lyon played the right kids.

Like most teams that knew that were prepared to go through a 4 year period without finals. the 1st year we got KPPs in Griffen logue, Sean Darcy, Brennan Cox and Taylin Duman. We also got Hamling and McCarthy in trades. not a bad bunch of players we got in the 2016 draft and trade period.

the next season, we got a lot of mids in cerra, crowden, Brayshaw, Banfield and Giro.

2018 draft looks ordinary. Saying that those 2016 and 2017 draft kids will be our core once Fyfe, Stephen hill and Walters are gone

If you are going to do a plan, you either go through it 100% or dont do it at all.

Same thing with Dean Bailey at the demons, horrible in the 1st 2 years. Got around 8 wins in 2010. 2011 was finals or bust then came that infamous Geelong game in Geelong and Bailey was sacked.

Bay 13 posts aside, I looked at Alan Richardsons coaching period at the saints....

1st 2 years wasnt good, 9 wins in 2 years doesnt look good. they could of sacked him at the end of 2015 but didnt.

Saints then improved in 2016 and 2017 narrowly missing out on finals. Richo got 2 years, rightfully so at the time. It seemed like Saints were going to play finals in 2018.

We all know what happened next. Saints fell into a heap in 2018.
