I would still wait a bit if I was the Giants. Look at Hardwick and Buckley as examples. Who knows how far the Giants will go next year.
Buckley has(had) a WRX at his disposal and went within 2 minutes of winning the comp.

Dimma has(had) a Datto 180B with 4 monster wheels propping it up and has coached the lights out the last 3 years.

Cameron had a Ferrari, and can't win a prelim. He's shit.

That maybe so, but the Giants have had a bad run with injury the last 3-4 years. That’s out of his control. It may finally click next year.

I refer you to the words of the local deity on the D&T board:
Just to give that quote some context;

Closing threads isn't meant to prevent posters from having genuine discussions, and there's no reason to assume that all threads about past list management decisions are disingenuous. In this case, he signed 3 days ago and new details were still emerging even this morning, so it's definitely still relevant.

That doesn't mean we won't ever lock a thread, but having a "confirmed" thread prefix isn't a reason by itself to lock it.

If the thread no longer attracts genuine interest then it will die a natural death on page 2 anyway, so long as people don't keep bumping it to complain about it being bumped.

What should you have received? A special Hawthorn priority pick? You received what the rules dictated you would receive.
No - the rules (I forget the exact wording) allow for special consideration/discretionary intervention in extreme circumstances.

If the largest contract of all time (and still is 5 years later despite all clubs having a 20% increase on salary cap) isn't a cause for triggering the special consideration clause then I don't know what is.

Manifestly incommensurate & disproportionate....As it was.

Lets get real here...'Ambassador payments' are the new 'COLA'.

So much for a level-playing field, eh Gilligan!
Lol

As soon as you Vics give it up we will to.

I must admit the 7 billion threw me.

We have some rich Western Sydney boys to pay that as a 3rd party.

If you manage to keep a hold of both Whitfield & Cameron, then that's 7 blokes on a Million plus by my estimates.

Good luck shelling out the other half of your cap to 40 blokes.

I'm sure we will be fine.

Jealousy is not a nice look on you.

I'm sure we will be fine.

It's an indisputable fact that more & more of your cap is going to fewer & fewer players....Unless you Ambassadorial payments are a bottomless pit, that is.

Soon you'll be the U.S of GWS.....Where the gap between the haves & have nots, will be greater than the Grand Canyon.

You dont even know what our player contracts are or how our cap is so no it's not indisputable.

Keep sucking on that salt.

Seven? That surprises me.

Who do you think they are?

Kelly, Cogs, Greene currently....Cameron & Patton are already close to it...As too Whitfield....So 2 of those will be over a $mill next year on new contracts, in order to keep them.

Davis, Ward & Shaw would also be up close thereabouts.

You can see why Patton is getting the squeeze....Taranto's next contract will also be demanding similar to keep other suitors at bay.

Kelly and Green are incorrect.as they aren't on a million.

Cogs is close to a mill yes but Some reports have him under.

Cameron is on a million with a back ended contract.

Patton is on 850 not a million. Thanks for taking that on by the way.

Davis, Ward and Shaw? Lol ****ing hell youre just hilarious now.

Edit.. these are from reports. so could be false and less.

Glad to sacrifice Patton and other C-Graders like Scully, O'Rourke and Tomlinson to keep the cream of the crop together.

I didn't count seven players on a million dollars in your post. I agree we will be tight, but I have full faith in our list management staff to continue to do a really good job. We are as salary cap compliant as every other club and I have no reason to believe that will change....

like Puopolo got all those years?
Cogs is, like, one of 15 or 20 multicultural ambassadors, spread across most teams in the league. you're talking out of your ar$e.

Resorting to hyperbole & ad hom merely betrays a lack of substance in your argument.

hyperbole
/hʌɪˈpəːbəli/
noun
  1. exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.

What part was hyperbole?

A statement of fact is not hyperbole - ok, so I’ll cop to the ad hom about talking out of your ar$e - but nothing in my post was remotely hyperbolic. Just the facts Jack, just the facts. You just don’t like it when the facts make themselves inconvenient to your rubbish narrative and tin foil hat conspiracy, but that’s entirely your problem.

You see...Resorting to 'tin-foil hat conspiracy jibes is a perfect example of hyperbolic ad hom….You couldn't help but contradict your own post in less than 2 sentences....Maybe you simply just don't understand language, logic & meaning.

Here's some facts for you:

A good example of not only hyperbole, but blatant equivocation, hypocrisy & a cover for a bad conscience:

The AFL admin.

Cogs has signed on at GWS for less money than he would have received from Melbourne clubs.....Really?....I didn't know any Melbourne clubs were offering him a 7 year deal @ 7 million $.

Also....does this statement factor in his ambassadorial brown-paper-bag money?....Absolutely not.

The AFL are blatantly deceitful liars.....Where are the decent journo's doing their job?....They're all too cowardly craven to lose their jobs & their coterie passes should they cross Gilligan….Pathetic.
