1000 times no. I cannot stand that man bun sporting blouse.

I have never seen a softer big forward in my life who can mess up the simplest of conversions.
Liked for man bun sporting blouse - that’s a top shelf quality description

Compare our team of the last 20 years to any other club outside GC and GWS and we are comfortably last. That's a culture issue. We've had more picks than almost anyone yet apart from Gawn we haven't been able to draft anyone who's in the elite of the competition.
I think 20 years is an exaggeration, admittedly the club was a basket case from 07 to 13. We certainly had some poor drafting/development in that period. I'm not willing to write off the current group recruited from 14 -18 because of the previous crop didn't work out. What other option is there just accept that the club is perpetually going nowhere?

No it's not. Go look at team of the 21st century threads.

We are comfortably the worst club at developing or trading talent.

I think a pick swap with GWS is inevitable. They are very keen on our pick 3 because they are going to lose one of their first round picks with a bid for green most likely coming at pick 4 by adelaide. They don't have a 2nd round pick, so their best option is to move infront of the bid so they will essentially have pick 3 and 4, instead of 4 and 12. We should be looking to make the most out of this situation with squeezing as much as possible out of a trade for pick 3, this is what i'd like to see us do:

GWS get: 3 and a late pick (3rd/4th rounder)
MELB get: 12,14, Aidan Bonar

I don't believe 12 and 14 alone is enough to satisfy a trade for 3, they will need to throw an extra asset in. Bonar was taken at pick 11 in the 2017 draft but has been starved of opportunity behind their mids. He's a big body mid who has elite speed, and a lot of x factor about him which he can play midfield, forward, and back, he reminds me of a more quicker and dynamic vandenburg from watching his highlights. There was rumours earlier in the year he wanted out, and with getting green in the draft GWS really won't miss him at all. Turning pick 3 into 3 young high quality players would be a massive get where there should still be a lot of good quality players available at 12 and 14 since the draft evens out a lot after pick 2.

i like your idea but i doubt GWS will essentially hand ove 3 first round picks for pick 3

Great post - Jye Caldwell another I'd be interested in.

Alternatively, if there wasn't a player...

GWS get: 3 and our 2019 2nd Round pick
MELB get: 12,14, 2020 1st Round pick

With Green being the best inside contested ball winner in the draft, I’d suggest it’s far more likely that we just use pick 3 to bid on him ourselves.

Yeah I agree it would be a pretty big haul, I wouldn't be against us throwing in our future second instead of a late pick if it was a Bonar or caldwell they chucked in. We will need our 2nd and 3rd rounders this year to trade for langdon and amon.

There’s also the pick that GWS get from Hawthorn for Patton to consider.

Bonar would be interesting. Could be a great player, but still a bit raw and requires a lot more development. Not sure how we’d go with that.

Having said that, he could probably slot straight into our forward line.

Pick 80 doesnt really do anything for me though. Id rather a player

From most reports, GWS are looking at Hawthorn’s first pick for Patton.

Personally, I reckon we should go out a get the best rehab specialist in Melbourne to add to our staff. Then we might be able to convince Patton to come to us.

He’s already shed most of his bulk to avoid stressing his knee and he would be playing a different type of forward role when he gets back, but it would still be a big improvement to our forward line.
