He gets a lot of criticism but the reality is that he’s caught between a rock and a hard place fighting fires between the board and the football department.
Just confirms the club is in disarray. Nothing good will come until a cleanout happens in a couple of years.

Anything else would be seen as unsupportive so I'm not sure what else he can say.
He can't say anything. Fact remains if we are as poor next year as this, the board and keith will rightly be able to move Ken on. Right now, they're stuck between the ridiculous pay out and wait and hope. KT is doing what any CEO would do....offer stability and feed the idea of no panic, steady as she goes. Why? Because we need to paint a positive outlook for a new joint major sponsor now more than ever with factors beyond our control impacting moneyflow from the PRC (though how a financially astute board didn't think this could ever be an issue is a surprise).

Keith has done plenty good for the club, he's also made a poor call in the interest of stability in re-signing ken, though at the time we were staring at the possibility of losing a coach midway through September because of our pigheaded president's lack of self awareness... Either option (extend or sever) would have had it's share of pros and cons, caution/stability won out.

The thing about this ceo note is that it's clearly been proofed/written by someone else as a straight marketing plug. Wonder if someone has pulled him in over 'Norwood flog'

Pissweak. Membership prices won't increase warrants an email qualifying his "we are listening" speech? If this is all he can come up with, and he thinks this will change our mood....

People are understandably pissed off. I'm no supporter of KT, but as it stands right now, I'm not so sure what else KT could say to the fans.

Actions are going to mean more than any words at this point. So far the one action we've seen is the freezing of membership prices and inclusions, specifically a 150th anniversary scarf in the membership pack. We've also heard that the co-captains leadership model will be revisited and reviewed with the possibility of changing it back to a conventional model. If nothing else, it's a good start. But if this is where the action ends, then I would be as pissed off as the rest of you.

Ugh...we really do need an external review.
Shame it will probably come a year or two too late.

Sorry C4 but am I interpreting this right by reading that as there are separate factions in the footy department and separate factions at board level?

Correct and they cross over sometimes also.

It’s very fragmented at the moment.

Would love to know who are in the different footy department factions.
Ken and Vossy versus the rest?

This is what happens when appointed directors - not to mention an inexperienced appointed chairman slowly learning on the job, supposedly - are allowed to hang around too long, desperate for the undeserved ‘fame’ they associate with a 150th anniversary.

Surely the 150 is not an attraction to Koch... It is pretty obvious to all that it'll be a cluster**** - and I'm sure that those at board level will be aware of that.

As a wise mentor of mine once said "7 years, 2 years, 100 years of failure all means the same thing"

The action could just end at the membership freeze and bonus scarfe. I am watching carefully to gauge if the club is using 'softening' tactics to dilute our anger until they declare no change. The membership freeze and scarfe I view it as small compensation right now. There hasn't yet been an admittance of error. Most years they freeze membership prices anyway so it is hard to tell whether or not it is an intended compensation.

Expect to see a number of parachutes pulled at senior levels end of 2020.... And the remaining dregs left to glue whatever is left back together

I’ve never met him personally, however some of the feedback I got on him after initially taking on the role (from someone that worked under him) and from two recent sponsor signings don’t really line up with the picture being painted by some here recently.

The former employee was complimentary of his team care, while two seperate sponsor signings were complimentary of the professionalism shown. Throughout the process.

That would be accurate. But the KT of those first three or four years is no longer the KT of nowadays. Constant pressure from all directions gradually wears down everyone and gets us all in the end.

My comment re one of the sponsors is not from the first 3/4 years.
