Correct.
Sounding a lot like Adelaide supporters who celebrated when we gave up our 2019 1st for Stocker...before remembering they also gave us their 2019 1st.
Or Carlton supporters saying we got 2 firsts for Gibbs

Dan Butler, apparently.Who are we onto today?
Daniher will get to Syd and Papley will get to us
We may have to hand in our 2019 and 2020 firsts with 2 seconds and Cameron in return

Barass posts "water is wet" in rumour file. All these jurnos are stealing barass info lol
That seems quite a big payout on our behalf. Papley is decent player but giving up 2 firsts is huge.
I might be wrong and if anyone knows please correct me, but I think its a three year rolling cap on the 5%. We have been paying 95% of the salary cap consistantly for a while but we can only pay 105% of the salary cap for three years, even if we payed under for much longer. Under that logic Sos has a 15% "war chest", nearly 1.9 Mil, he has been saving to front load a guanine A grade.Do we need to spend all of our mattress money this year or do we have another year to spend it?
Hidden mattress money just in case you were wondering......
I think I’ve read somewhere in this thread that it needs to be spent this year, if so, why aren’t we making it virtually impossible for Jack Mario Martin to say no?
Or is SOS playing 22 dimensional chess?
That sounds pretty decent to me.SOS would be looking at it as 2x firsts for Papley, Martin, Cameron and 1x second rounder
So when/where would you suggest we get a gun small foward?Nup. fu** that!!! They can keep Papley. If I'm giving up 2 firsts then give me Heeney.......and I want a 2nd Rounder back.
As much as I like Papley, he's worth a Future 1st, nothing more.
If you're prepared to give up two 1st Rounders you are. I also reckon one wouldn't need more than a nominal pick (6th Rounder) to get Cameron. If you're prepared to be patient, you may even pick him up as a DFA.
That's a very interesting thing to nitpick...View attachment 739942
Butler has been on their list for 5 years, only debuted in his 3rd season... was this down to injury? Sounds a little concerning..

Big picture - we add Papley and Martin to our side irrespective of picks - it fills two massive holes.
Considering the youth already on our list, if we lose this and next years first, I'm not overly bothered - it's all about the context of how our list overall is improved. At the end of this trading period, we want it to be better than it is now.
At some point in the next few years - we're also going to have players wanting to go .... and that's how we can get back into the draft if necessary.

YesIt is?
Not a lot of great things being said about Butler on the Tigers board ???

Also worth remembering that Silvagni seems (my opinion could be wrong) to look at the net result of our trading periods more so than each individual trade
Nah let’s just get more mids because they get 25 touches a game.We have Dow, Setterfield, Fisher, SPS, Stocker, and Cuningham who could all become gun midfielders in the next few years.
How many players on our list have the potential to become gun small forwards?
Exactly! it's what you get back in total not one isolated trade if by the end of the trade period it was out 2019 and 2020 firsts In papley,Martin Cameron then I'm happy with thatSOS would be looking at it as 2x firsts for Papley, Martin, Cameron and 1x second rounder
As we know from history, this is exactly how SOS views trade period - sum of all parts, rather than trades in isolation.Exactly! it's what you get back in total not one isolated trade if by the end of the trade period it was out 2019 and 2020 firsts In papley,Martin Cameron then I'm happy with that
They are welcome to him and his social media influencer company. Things mustn't be going as great as he expected if this is the case though.I read that the Crows may be interested in signing Bugg... should we be annoyed if that occurs and they actually get some football out of him?
