They've landed a lot of quality players + traded out players for good returns yet they don't seem to improve much.. I think its their drafting that may be holding them back, Daniher and Fantasia always being injured doesnt help

Does anybody think that if Adrian was not in thick with the coterie bigwigs making millions together that he would have survived 16 years without a single finals victory?

Anyone?

If the club doesn't want to sack him then find him a different role.

Dodoro imo is very good at the trade table but when it comes to drafting talent he's meh.

This sums up the problem B4L. It is that they can't sack him....and even if they could somehow manage to, that they would then be obliged to find him another role.

Adrian is a glaring example of Essendon's deeper issues. Their setup. They are beholden. It creates malaise.

Said it earlier.

In a vaccumm his drafting (as in each individual pick) is average to above average.

But his drafting as a whole (when looked at big picture) is horrendous.

I can't remember a time where we did not have at least three big hole in our list.

Nice posting Mikevk123.

But whether anyone thinks that adds up to good or bad, it is all pretty irrelevant really.

In the deals that really matter, Adrian and the coterie boys made millions together.

He's staying. Indeed just been added to The Executive Board. And long may he be the symbol of the EFC malaise.

16 years.

The club needs a broom through the place.

Yeah, but he didn't know that when he got him. Was known as a selfish forward pocket at GWS (by the fans).
Lmfao he was brought here to play midfield. What a dumb post

Didn’t he?

Bigfooty thought he was a small forward but I distinctly remember Dodoro saying otherwise.

i think the issue for Dev was he wanted midfield time, but GWS had a powerhouse middle. so he couldn't get extended time in
Early days he played a bit of midfield and his tenacity was impressive.
Missed him this year.

It's an interesting one given the last build, wiped out by the saga, was (over)filled with big, one-paced midfielders. As a broad point though, absolutely - it's a list with serious talent yet also clear gaps.
You also had talented but injury prone players such as the bloke on your avatar.

Yes Im gutted how scott gumbletons career went.

hell of a talent but his body constantly broke down with injury
