No matter how shiite and terrible the deal a club gets - let fans, presidents and former greats harp on about it

Coaches should ALWAYS play a straight bat and say anyone anywhere anytime.

A negative thought is a down payment on an obligation to fail.

Indescribably stupid for him to whine like he has.

I cant help thinking if I ran a tavern/pub near GMHBA, I want the finals to play there too?!

Yes
Of course.

You finish 1st you get the right to host a home final. That is how it works.
The needs and desires of the other club aren't important AT ALL.

If they choose not to, that makes it another question entirely.

Is the MCG Geelong's home ground ? No.
Nothing else is relevant, as it is simply an exercise in making a few extra dollars by putting bums on seats.

You earn a home final, you must get a home final.

Too many scared fans out there. No idea why. There has never been a single unbiased sensible argument put forward to justify it.

You must be blaming the AFL not playing the Geelong vs Hawthorn game in GMHBA in Round 18 (but instead at the MCG).
You are the only strange Hawthorn supporter I have seen wearing the Essendon jumper supporting the Hawthorn most hated enemy-Geelong! Which team are you loyal to?
He is just a bundle of positivity and happiness isn't he? Sorta like a permanent rain cloud over his head. Fake Geelong account i reckon.

Why do fans of MCG tenant clubs always go searching for obscure technicalities and semantics on this issue ?

Don't make it so damn obvious you are scared of playing finals at Kard Pk.

Why would anyone be scared, they’ve lost 100% of their finals there?

If we look at England and the FA Cup- if a side like Manchester United is drawn to play an away game against a minnow side like say Grimsby Town, the game will be played at Grimsby Town’s stadium because that’s their right as the home team. Even though *gasp* Grimsby Town’s ground can only hold 9000 fans compared to Old Trafford’s 70,000.

So the idea that we need to play our home games at the opposition’s home ground due to attendance issues is just laughable.

Do Marvel tenants get home finals at that smaller ground?

No.

Do they whine and complaign about it?

No.

Should the AFL lock out 50,000 fans and play a final at a substandard venue.

No.

So why should Geelong get preference over Marvel tenants? What makes Geelong so special to be treated more favourably? Please explain that to us.

Marvel and MCG tenants get a diluted home ground advantage all season and in finals playing against other tenants. Geelong gets a massive home ground advantage every game in Geelong AND get to play more at the MCG where flags are won.

Any MCG game v any interstate team is still a big advantage to the Cats anyway, one hour drive up the road.

But Cats supporters ignor all of these legitimate factors and cry and complaign.

Talk about the age of entitlement.

caloschwaby has already identified that MCG is also one of Geelong‘s home grounds. It is the problem of their coach has not communicated properly with Geelong‘s administration.

It's not just MCG tennants. There is not a fan of any of the 17 clubs that want to play you in a final at KP. Geelong at KP is a more frightening prospect than even WCE at Optus or Richmond at the G.

You should be allowed to play finals there. Only condition should be all Geelong home finals are played there, not just non-Victorian clubs.

Or maybe it's their country that's laughable and we are doing things right.

Only if they play all their home games there too, so that all teams get exposed to KP and they don't have to go and play a final there with zero experience of the ground. Of course that means Geelong would get a lot less exposure to the MCG where the Grand Final is played. But Geelong will want to have their cake and eat it too.
