if both rowell and anderson are gone by our pick then i reacon its a given that we will bid on TG... GWS know this and thus know they need to get above us or get our pick if they have any hope of keeping their first rounders to spend on something else...

It means they are in a precarious position.. something we should take as much advantage of as possible.

If melbourne are looking at trading pick 2 then we should be all over it like a cheap suit... we have the next pick.. melbourne can get pick 3 and something else of value off of us for pick 2 and then still trade down again using that pick 3... maximises the value of pick 2 even further for them...
Why would we necessarily bid on Tom Green, other than the fact he's a little bigger than most of our current mids he's definitely not Marcus Bontompelli, Patrick Cripps big.....and his best work is as an inside mid so apart from size he's not a whole lot different to what we already have?
I'm not convinced he's a really good fit for our list unless there are changes made personnel wise over the trade period.

I'd be shocked if Carlton went down the Jacobs path in particular with Betts in the mix as well.

I am certain Jacob's management have made sure the Carlton news got out. I think we hold firm on one year. He doesn't want to move interstate and if he did then so be it.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the GWS offer was a bit of a stretch as well. It’s no different to the Racing SA offer to Chappy conveniently being leaked.

Why haven’t we pulled it yet? You can’t have that attitude at the club

It’s ridiculous that our offer is still on the table. All that he’s going to do is stunt the development of the next guys coming through. There’s no flag next year so it’s pointless having a cooked dinosaur as backup. Better off with just about any other AFL listed ruckman that has a 5% chance of turning into something.

I reckon Jacob's is more likely to Carlton than Eddie. I agree he doesn't want to move. Will probably end up taking a1year deal with us. Lucky to get that. I would have delisted him.

He'll be straight back to Ardrossan when he's done.

A lot more currency is required than 11 & 13 for pick 2 or 3. They would have to include a player.
They then need to find points for Greene. That's another 1st they need to find.

In an even draft its not necessarily that great a deal for them once the numbers are crunched.

There's people who don't have him top 5 and quite a few on the GWS board are saying they shouldn't trade up.
The Giants can use their 1st next year which is going to be 14-18 you'd imagine then probably get a 3rd back with pick 3. That'd be plenty

I have no issues if we got Jacobs back on a 1 year deal as long as both he and club understand he's an emergency for O'Brien. But I think it's fair enough that he wants to keep playing at the top level, but we shouldn't be making any promises like that, it's ROB's time for now ahead of him at least.

I also hope that if the CEY rumour is true, it's because he's got another offer from a different AFL club. He deserves a crack and to earn himself a bit of coin while he still can. Think he could be a handy player to another club, much like Lyons has proven himself to be.

Whilst not disagreeing with you, isn't the first rule of a first round pick to pick for talent rather than strictly for need and if Tom Green is the next best player on the board at 3, then a club will generally go that route

Starting to have some doubts about how Charlie handles big games/finals pressure.....You?

Not in the sense he becomes timid or anything like that, just the mental side putting too much pressure on himself to perform.
Agreed. Just had to watch his body language every time Grimes beat him to the ball. Chris Fagan clearly saw this too and tried to tell him to take it easy, not be so hard on himself. Charlie just shrugged him off. Needs to work on this aspect.

Greenwood and CEY are really tight wonder if they'll end up at the same club
Unlikely I'd reckon.

Bit disappointed to lose CEY but at the same time it should provide an opportunity for someone else.
