Saints have control of the deal not dogs, fun time ahead for doggies supporters...
Depends what the price for Hill is, and whether Saints have other trade targets lined up.
The Bruce trade may be the first step in the Saints acquiring 2-3 trade targets. Clubs tend to be fairly mature about trades, far more than BigFooty pissing contests.

Problem for Doggies they are not the only club in for Bruce.

Ultimately that's not relevant to the trade cost. Once a player nominates, the deal is done between the two parties, and no others. Not saying we're going to get Bruce for nothing, but whether the Pies are chasing him is largely irrelevant here, other than creating the risk of Bruce choosing the Pies

Being contracted matters a huge amount, if you dont match Saints valuation they then either keep him or move him to the highest bidder, if the dogs do want Bruce then you will pay overs to get him now the fun part is do the Saints want picks or ready made best 22 player.

I'd imagine the Saints would ultimately want picks given the number of players they're already chasing. Any of Keath, Jones and Ryder are more than paid for with picks sent for Bruce (or partially pay for Hill) which would be better than receiving a player since they have relatively little draft currency right now, without a 2nd or 3rd rounder

If you ask Saints fans they want Toby Mclean and our first rounder and then they will send that first to Freo for Brad Hill. I know clubs overrate players but if hes getting pushed out the door and wants to leave anyway (sources say this is true) then a 2nd rounder is what will happen
Who has said that?

Roof if bombers make a play for Bruce and he nominates them. Saints can forget about getting another first to trade for Hill. Dodo will bend them over.

I don't get why Josh would want the Dogs (no offence) your key forwards are the best young duo we've seen since the GWS/GCS early days. Naughton/Schache should be the cornerstone of the Dogs premiership aspirations for a long time. A 10 year partnership in the making. A KPD is easier to find than a very good KPF hence why Naughton should be played forward.

Schache isn’t great. Don’t let goals fool you. Schache goes off the boil for long periods of time. Plus we play only 2 tall forwards. Room for one more.

The jury is out on Schache.
