I hate sharing our home stadium with minnow clubs like Collingwood, Melbourne and Hawthorn. We’re bigger than that. We should build our own 100,000 seat stadium and move away from the G. If it was up to me, every team would have their own home stadium to create a true home ground advantage while the MCG is used only once a year for the Grand Final. This would eliminate all whinging. Home crowds should also be separated from away crowds like in the Premier League.

Our own 100,000 seat stadium? Too small for the Big 1.. needs to be much bigger.

Great footballer. Hard as a coffin nail. But he is a scumbag piece of s**t. If he was on fire, I'd try to put him out with a bike chain.
Moral compass all f’ed up, shows zero regard or respect for his opposition. Absolutely despise him.

It's because he is villain that I like him. He adds colour to the game. He loves playing it up. The type of player that feeds off negative energy. He is a tough logo who simply try to get any edge over the opposition.

My Toby is not a terrible player. He may be a scumbag, show zero regard, have a messed up moral compass, a terrible player. But he is not a porn star.

The Tayla Harris statue is not a statue of Tayla Harris per se. It is a statue of the moment. It could have depicted any person, or they could have removed her facial features and the statue would carry the same meaning. I think that’s important to remember.
It could have had lobster claw hands, a pimp hat and a loosely dangling set of testicles. It would still carry the same meaning.

I think Toby Greene is a great player. He can play dirty and he can play tough. He is a footballers footballer. One who will try to win at all costs. If he was transported back to the olden days, he would be right up there amongst the elite. Change my view.

I like him but I liked Hayden Ballantyne. I like dirty players .. you sort had to back in the 70s.

But the moment means nothing either. She kicked the ball and a guy took a great photo of it.

She then called out some 40 year old losers on social media for being crude about her femininity.

I still don't see that as worthy of a statue.

Am I missing something about the moment that makes it such a landmark moment in Australian culture?

It's just feel-good rubbish IMO and takes away from the accomplishments of others that have and haven't been immortalised.

I like him, but I'd never want him in our side. Too many reversed free kicks, too many games missed through suspension.

I remember a game V Giants where he belted Rance and got a free kick reversed - completely changed the momentum of the game.

I wrote similar in the Bay the other day, love him. Smug prick, but love him. If he was a Tiger he'd have a massive cult following.

Have to agree as I thought the exact same thing.

Did we really need a statue to commemorate putting some sad losers on the internet in there place. Just reeks of way overs for the feel good PR and photo op. I get it’s meant to symbolise a line in the sand but I’m not about it. Harmless and doesn’t effect anyone but I’d be filthy it they put it at the G with the other champions.

A statue should only be for people who have made a different over a long term by sporting achievement or other reasons.

I’m not saying putting it up at the G, but I do think it has the right to be immortalized like Winmar lifting his jumper and pointing at his skin.

It’s saying that it’s not okay to demonize a person for their sex. I’m not gonna say I’m an angel in this regard but there are still comments about Hipwood should be playing AFLW or Viney trying out for the for our VFLW team. But this moment was when public opinion really began to turn against this, you’ll never be free of it (see Goodes racism) but still think it’s an important moment.
