Yes boys were outstanding just brutal really their tackling pressure and hunt so good too watch. Good clubs don’t lose three in a row we changed things up as u have too and our hunger had to more than theirs.Great club the Roos but weren’t allowed to fire a shot on Saturday amazing how 22 even performers can get a job done no talk of qafl just yet just drinks and time to celebrate great feeling!

I must admit I look at the current QAFL set up and its just a 20% increase on the old PHC. With the top shelf players in the 3 clubs in NEAFL as well as the best young fellas kicking around with Lions/Suns most weeks its a comp that is somewhere bn the old PHC and the old QAFL and Noosa in particular held their own in the PHC many years ago. Looking at both Roos and Tigers sides on the weekend and the points cap would be easily achieved even with 4-5 top end players to come in; both sides were full of local kids as well as long term players recruited many years ago.

Well done NB, you took your chances early, played the game on your terms and we didn't respond effectively. It was a classic case of scoreboard pressure being the best pressure. So many things didnt go our way, some of our own making some just bad luck, simply just not our day.

Noosa probably best side in it this year in reality. Reckon Maroochy did incredibly well to finish 2nd considering injuries / unavailabilities early in year. And once Noosa lost 2nd semi actually reckon they were better placed to win on Saturday. Which they did.

Palmy and Noosa always had great games...Noosa have a great advantage at there home Ground and would be hard to beat there
meaning they would go close to playing finals on the list they have Now ?

I watched the Div 1 GF on Sunday.
Neither Maroochy or Noosa would get within 10 goals of Vultures, Magpies or Labrador who finished 5,6,7 in the QAFL this year.
They are both sides that would be like Grange and Sandgate, not really in finals contentio but capable of giving a few teams a run on their day.
Both clubs probably know that and will recruit accordingly and be competitive, they both have more money than the Brisbane based QAFL sides, so should be fine and will be competitive if they both go up.

Yeah agree with all that Fan - they will recruit accordingly but mind you they will be suffering from the fact that the other QAFL clubs have guys there on reduced points due to longevity at that club vs them bringing in players from elsewhere (which incumbent QAFL clubs did a few years ago when points didn't matter).

Not sure its about having the nuts to do it QFF - the history of football is littered with clubs going backwards because they went forwards too early in the piece or an administrators/coach ego got in the way of common sense. Think the Tigers will evaluate the situation carefully and make the decision that is best for their footy club as a whole. Personally I would love to see them go up but if they dont you can be assured that it is bc their evaluation has told them that 2020 isnt the right time. Like I have said the QAFL is nothing like the comp that existed in the late 90's as far as standard goes and I think a club that has their finances in order, a good playing list, lots of young talent, and a strong support base would go okay. But thats me looking at it with eyes outside of the club. And then who knows if the powers will tick it off right now even if they want to?

I doubt the gap is that big.
My club Broady played Noosa in a practice match and Noosa won comfortably. No doubt Noosa played a closer to full strength line up and probably were up for the challenge of playing a team from higher division more but They are a good footy team and I reckon are capable of competing and winning games at QAFL level

too much trouble ..I watch a lot of Local Footy in all grades ...Palmy Broady ect they would need to pick up to be in the game There...
Agree so why go to a higher comp to finish 6 th? Just to say you play in a state league affiliate.We will lose a lot of very good and experienced footballers now that we have won a flag and right now with no colts feel we are not ready for the jump.A new ctee may be different so have to wait and see after agm however right now there has been no invitation by the qafl to us.
Our gm Mitch woods won our b and f pretty comfortably on Friday night with Aaron Laskey runner up for a third straight season.

two under 16 teams and can't field a colts? Weird
I would go with winning a flag rather than sit in second rate state league. The only difference between the QAFL and Div 1 is the effort/Money/media AFLQ put into to the QAFL to prop it up.
They had 2 u16 teams this year. One was loaded with their best players, plus a few u16.5 players, they other team was continually smashed by 20+ goals each week. Player development obviously not a priority up there!

It's u16 footy, surely you're not suggesting that they put 2 x even teams in like U10s?
Its all about player development in juniors. How would the players in their other team feel each week getting pummeled only to see the other team win almost every other week.

Your job at clubland as a junior coach is to be inclusive of all players and develop them to the best of your ability to have them ready for the next age group. You should be judged on how many kids return the following year due to a positive experience. I do understand this can dissipate in the older age groups as other distractions become more prevalent. If premierships are the coaches sole goal then the wrong person is in the position.
Spot on SP. The coaches role is to get these boys playing to the best of their ability. Premierships can measure success to a degree, but it's what these boys do in the years to come is whats most important.
Where will the 20+ players from the Noosa team that got hammered each week be next year??
The product was a very high standard finals series and GF between Coolum and Noosa which will prepare some of those boys (from both sides) to play some senior football in the next couple of years. Both coaches from Noosa were on the same page and had very different roles in terms of development of their players.
Don't see any problem with it and good on the fellas in the 2nd side for sticking at it right to the end. Hard situation when all grouped in 1 division due to lack of teams.
Dont think I'm quite on the same page here RP. Maroochydore had 2 even teams. Both coaches obviously working together to get the best out of the boys.
I did hear during the year that the parents of the Noosa team being flogged each week were not happy.

It was a good game of junior footy the 16s final - not sure it was any better or worse than any other year tbh which might have been a consequence of the wind too. Certainly the result showed both sides were evenly matched.
Kawana who finished 4th had a few of their best players play colts footy elsewhere including 2 in the Grange premiership team - they would have won if these kids had played and Noosa had one of their best playing at Grange too. Maroochy split their 2 teams evenly and nearly had 44 boys playing finals footy which is a really good aim at seasons start.

Thats fine and is dependant on individual clubs mission statement, if in fact they have one. 20 kids each week loving their footy and looking forward to training and potentially 20 kids each week finding it a battle to keep fronting up after constant floggings. Create the environment, develop the kids and what will be will be imo
