I heard the term "chaos ball" used way too much this weekend.

True.

Geelong lost because they didn't kick enough chaos balls into the forward line late in the game. o_O

New descriptive term for a miskick so it sounds like the players have done something outrageously skillful rather than just f.cked up

Problem is you are listening to channel 7 ... and unfortunately channel 7 commentators, starting with Darcy, are A grade knob heads

It's part of the wider commentary problem with Brayshaw and Russell at its heart.

Every kick is a "ball". There's long balls, short balls, high balls, low balls, good balls, wide balls - all sorts of balls.

Dwayne is 10 years ahead of the game.

I predict "drop step" will enter the FTA commentary vernacular come the 2029 season.

Of course the prick that started it commentates for Fox.

God they're loathsome.

It used to be a style of play. Port for instance did a lot of “chaos ball” against the Eagles earlier this season, but that was deliberate and a tactical ploy to get around their marking defenders. Now it seems like it applies to every rushed kick into the forward line regardless of intent.
