I think he has been linked with Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon, Sydney and Gold Coast now. Wait until the grand final is finished he will be linked to the Darwin buffalos before trade period starts
And the dolphins in the ammos lol. He is going no where!!! Will get a 5 year contract with triggers and performance incentives

He will net us a pick 4 or 5 next year without doing anything

We keep him and we get another year from him and pick 4 or 5

we trade we lose him for a year so would obviously want better than 4 or 5 unless the club are halfwits
True. This is why the only offer that might make sense for both sides is GC's 2020 1st for Crouch, because it has a lot of good chance of being higher than pick 4/5. Selling Lukosius before he's actually made it clear he wants out is a brainless move for Gold Coast, especially for a good but not great player like Crouch. But if they get Rowell and Anderson together this year, that probably gives them enough youth to develop without needing to keep adding more top picks.

You could say selling crouch before you know he wants out is the same

It has been reported whether its true or not that luko was offered a contract extension but declined, is the only reason his name circulates

The only way Luko for crouch occurs if both clubs know they want out

Otherwise if its crouch only I reckon adelaide would want a top pick this year, who knows have discussions been had with the AFL about what the PP would be used for

GC need experienced good players otherwise the AFL have a problem with them being competitive which stuffs the comp

There's a 6 year, $5,000,000 contract on the table for Crouch from GC.
Likely accepts it but then a trade will have to be faciliated.

Can't see GC letting go of Lukoscious unless it's something like Crouch + 2020 1st for Luko.

Don't think Brisbane's pick that GC have at pick 13 odd is enough (as Adelaide can force him to stay and get a pick after their first next year which could be around 6-13 in a stronger draft).

Something like Crouch + Adelaide 2020 1st for GC 2020 1st may get the job done?

SEN reporting Crouch is close to accepting an offer from the Suns. But I wonder if the Suns can possibly get this deal done without including Lukosius. Maybe with whatever they get for Jack Martin plus a swap of next year's firsts?
It's right, the rest of the rumoured teams have been bullshit but the GC offer is legit and being considered.

Check any prior info i've had on the Crouch's.

Mitch clearly-last week

He’s gone to the Crows and his management has started talks on a five-year deal. He wants a long-term deal beyond his contract for 2020, but his management is also at the same time is still shopping him around to teams like Gold Coast and St Kilda.”

“He wants a mega-offer and he’s still at this stage being shopped around.”

Tim Watson-today
BREAKING NEWS from Tim Watson: "Brad Crouch, (is) very close, to accepting a Gold Coast Suns offer. The Crows are trying extremely hard to keep him."

If Gold Coast has offered that to Crouch then the deal now needs to be in heavily in favour of the Crows. He is contracted and if Gold Coast have done that then they will need to pony up. If they get pick 2 as a priority pick then that’s what Adelaide should ask for. If not then Adelaide says Lukosius or he stays.

Something doesnt add up, Crows could easily offer him 5 year contract and put the talk to bed but aren't and are allowing his management to shop him...

I love how the GC fans believed they had to let Lyons go because of their salary cap issues, the same year they lose their two highest paid players, and then the following year they are throwing around massive offers to Crouch and Ellis.

Perhaps it was more so they needed him off their books so they could make offers like this?

Letting Lyons go was a blunder regardless, but I daresay that would be the argument rather than they were risking going over their salary cap.

If it's Lukosius, then you'll be the ones ponying up more than just Crouch.

Do you actually know that Lyons approached Suns after trade and asked to be de-listed (after supposedly no team was interested in him during trade period according to his agent)? Suns told him in his exit interview that they can not guarantee his contract extension beyond 2019 and his spot in the best 22 as they wanted to give opportunity in midfield to kids (Bowes, Fiorini, Ainsworth, Brodie, Macpherson). Suns told him they would be happy if he explored trade. Would Suns be better with Lyons this year? I doubt it. He played for Suns 2 years with Ablett, May, Lynch etc and got them nowhere. His numbers this year and when he was with Suns are actually comparable. Lyons is a very good fit for Lions, but make no mistake he is not A grade and on a struggling team like Suns he did not work hard enough and gave up easily. Now on his 3rd chance he is motivated and good luck to him.

Suns saved a lot of money off loading Lyons, KK, Hall, Scrimshaw, losing Lynch, May, Martin, Ah Chee. Plenty to use for offers now.

Why? We aren’t the ones apparently throwing out $5,000,000 contracts.
Hannebery was on $800k and went for a late 2nd/early 3rd round pick. Patton is on the same and will go for even less. Scully was apparently on around ~$500-600k and went for a 4th round pick.

All of those were salary dumps, but it seems pretty clear that the value of contracts don't mean too much in the context of a trade.

Who cares about contracts? They don't affect value.

Jack Lukosius is a far more valuable player right now than Brad Crouch is.
to gold coast? I highly doubt it. They need A grade midfield talent and B Crouch is exactly that, He would step straight in and be their best midfielder by a distance next year. Lukosius is a slower burn - did ok this year but he won't be winning games for them next year or likely the year after. Has a very high ceiling but will he reach that there - who knows

There’s something to be said for comparing the value of a 25 year old known quantity with the 9th highest Brownlow votes:games ratio in Crows history against an unknown, unproven (albeit talented) player like Lukosius.

For what it’s worth I don’t think Brad is going anywhere. His agent is doing his job and driving up the value of what will likely be the most lucrative contract of his career.

Reminds me of a certain other trade that took place 5 years ago. One related to my club specifically. What was it again?...

He's averaging ~9 games a year over his career so we can expect 1 BOG and 1 other vote getting game next year.

I can’t speak for what the Bulldogs thought Tom Boyd and Ryan Griffen were worth (noting Griffen was 29 at the time of that trade, Crouch is 25, so they’re really not comparable in the slightest), just providing on my own thoughts re: player value.

Lukosius could be anything from Nick Riewoldt to Jack Watts. You know what you’re getting with a player like Brad.
