Now that season 2019 now over what does North has to do to move up the ladder?
Any ideas considering we have simpleton from BSBS era as the coach.
1:Recruit players players from the following comps ex AFL out of system between 1 to 2 years, SANFL,WAFL and VFL.
2:Try and play a more attractive style of football.
3:Win games.
4:A better draw.
Here just a some ideas anyone got some ideas.

We might finally get a good run on the injury front so the VFL have some players to choose from.

This.

When we have 7 or 8 AFL listed players vs 16 or 17 every week, it generally gets tough.

Over the last 5 years I doubt there's been a club with more consistently draining long term injuries to young underbelly players than us.

Jacobs, EVW, Garner, Daw, Wood have been the main culprits and most of them have had multiple long terms periods out over multiple seasons.

Then the likes of Walker, Ahern, Anderson, Wright, Hall, Scott, Tyson have missed the majority of a season at one point.

Hayden, Hibberd, Durdin, Watson, Junker, Wilkinson etc all had their injury issues as well. Zurhaar even broke his leg at one stage.

Our AFL side hasn't been too bad, but injuries to our depth have been catastrophic for a long period of time.

Im trying to think of the last year when we haven't had a young player wiped out by long term injury.

You chuck 80% of those guys in and we absolutely wipe the floor with most VFL sides. We've had a list imbalance with not enough midfielders, too many flanker/backmen types, but even at one point we had too many KPP injuries and had no VFL listed depth there.

Close was a big loss to the side this year.

Our starting core next year could potentially contain Campbell, Tyson, Hall, Scott, Walker, Taylor, EVW, Xerri, Crocker, Hayden, Hosie and LDU/Jacobs/Garner/Anderson/Turner/1st round pick and one of Daw/Durdin/McKay depending on who's fit plus a few new draftees. That starting on ball group would be close to the most experienced in the league and should dominate on paper.

One of McDonald, Pittard, Williams may even play there given Shaw's preference and who we draft and how Crocker and EVW come on.

That list of players alone should be enough to be very competitive, we just need a clear run with injury.

But Richmond has had quite a few injuries this season, as has Collingwood. That hasn't affected them in the same way. Perhaps their VFL supplimentary players are of better quality?

And off topic slightly, can you give a quick synopsis of where young Crocker is at after the first year in the system?
On one hand, I've read some good reports during the season, and he was coming from a long way back, having missed most of his draft year. But on the other hand, I don't think he has been close to selection at any stage, and generally these days to get a contract extension beyond 2 years, a player needs to be pushing for selection at least in the second year (except when injuries are in play or he is a KP). Is Crocker likely to make it? Or does he have to debut next year to be any chance of an extension?

From what I saw of him, he impressed way beyond expectations. Skinny as a rake, no preseason, coming off some serious rehab, he came straight into the 2nds and made an impact. To the extent he was being talked up by some of the track watchers on here for a sneaky debut towards the end of the season. Looks a keeper to me. Footy smarts, smooth mover, clean disposal (on both sides). A preseason will do him wonders. Things would have to go seriously pear-shaped for him not to get an extension. Would be surprised if he doesn't debut in 2020.

1 would have been to replace Loader with a better coach but looks like he is being kept on somehow

So the only other quick fire way to rise is to recruit.
We need a good KPF to be recruited from somewhere
According to the Herald Sun today - NM needs an inside mid to help Cunnington????? We've got 27 inside mids on our list for Gods sake!!!! Dom Tyson on a 3 year deal mind you!!!!

Any recruiting news on the VFL side atm.
Just thinking how many ex AFL , NEAFL SANFL and WAFL who would want to play VFL and have there chance at maybe an AFL senior contract ruin by Loader and his Goon Squad

Mate listen we get it you don't like Loader

I personally am ******* bored by your shtick so either find something else to post about or try to quit the relentless negativity that permeates your every missive on this godforsaken website

Believe Rippon is moving back to Ballarat and playing for Sebastopol. Don’t think he’ll be on the list next year.

Did they end up winning? Pretty sure they won their prelim (based on the drunken mayhem from them and their supporters a few weeks ago at my BIL's 40th).
