Yes, GC going hard after Brouch. Offering an extra year & more per year. Given he has 2 years left on his contract, I expect us to bargain hard for a top 2 pick along with Luko, given Greenwood will also be part of any deal. Question is whether Mrouch also joins his brother...
Doesnt he have only one year left not two

Like the thread title suggests

Yep $900k with 5 years with his injury issues, pace and questionable disposal is a start the car kind of deal.
Hard to know who to believe around here, but have you had any intel before that’s panned out?

I've been on here forever and I rarely get involved in these to type of threads, but I heard this albeit second hand from somebody who heard it from the horse's mouth. If it's wrong I'll put my hand up and say I was Bullshitted, but it seems to me there is zero reason for this guy to be bullshitting me.

We are never getting pick 2 for him... you dont pass up the opportunity of drafting the best 2 mids who are best friends.

If we get lucky maybe we could get luko... would be more realistic 2020 1st

Did Matt come up?

Gather will depend on what is more important to Gold Coast - a quality experienced midfielder to build their midfield around for the next 5 years or another gun junior they risk losing again.

Need to pay a premium for a contracted player whose club would prefer to keep them.

Yep. These draft picks will take 3 years to get to Brads level now and Gold Coast need to start improving now.

Still think we are gunning for Luko though and get a mid with pick 4.

One. His team is irrelevant.

Two. None of that means either Crouch is worth a top 2 pick. They arent.
I never said they were worth it. I said if GC want both crouch brothers then it'll take a godfather deal for it to happen i.e. the value of two high first round pick. That blokr was calling people stupid, idiots, fools and telling them to do their research. If he wants to have a mature grown up conversation then sure but if not he can go post on Port pages instead.

The crows have an offer for brad on the table. His management want a longer contract, so the crows have told them to feel free to test his value on the market, it's not that brad is actually on the trade table. So if GC or another club want him, they need to make a big play.

Having said that Crows are desperate to land Luko. I think if GC could land another top 10 pick for Martin, that crows could look at a trade for b crouch, our pick 3 and greenwood in exchange for Luko, the pick for Martin and maybe something else back.

The other thing that hasn't been considered in all of is if GC doesn't get that first round priority pick. There's a lot to play out there but if melbourne trade their pick 2 to GWS to use on green which is what has apparently been agreed in principle, then crows pick 3 becomes hugely valuable to gc in trying to land Rowell and Anderson. So still a lot of different scenarios that could happen in this space.

I disagree
When you have 2 best kids in the draft which are best friends and want to play together and your team has trouble keeping kids there this type of opportunity does not come around often and they MUST get the stability this could bring. A player like crouch is not their saviour and apart from his injuries Brad Crouch is not a top 10 player in the comp that you just cannot miss out on and if he is that willing to come to GC a trade will get done for later picks as he certainly is not worth a pick #2.

Free agency is where you get players like Brad Crouch as no other team will be paying him $1 mil a year

Sure, but an important point you appear to be missing is that Brad Crouch is not currently a Free Agent & still under contract... & Gold Coast are wanting him now... which will come at a premium.

Crows fans need to get realistic, there's absolutely no way GC are parting with either top two pick unless they have lead in their water supply. The point of getting pick 2 is to recruit two top prospects who are good mates together to reduce the likelihood of them leaving. Trading either pick defeats the purpose unless it's for a Fyfe-level superstar.

If anyone watched the U17 all stars match yesterday, there were some seriously impressive SA boys, along with one, possibly two GC academy boys who could be top picks. So it makes a lot of sense for Gold Coast to trade their 2020 pick to avoid it being used for bid matching, and the Crows to acquire it to pick up another top SA kid. That might be a workable trade.

So why would the crows trade for GC next years first round if it’s going to be dropped in positions for bid matching from other clubs? Crows will get a top pick after their pick if he leaves as RFA next year

Because it could still be higher than what they get as RFA compensation. Gold Coast aren't good enough to rise out of the bottom 6. It could very well be pick 1 again actually.

Are GC winning the spoon next year? If so, that's pick 1 you're getting. Brad for 2020 pick 1, mad not to do it.

If not traded this year, next year goes as a RFA, at best you'll get a pick after your first which could be in double figures.

You would be mad not to take GC s next year's first, I agree

Much better than an RFA which will be worse than GCs first, if that's on the table

The deal looks fair

RileyThilthorpe is an SA tall that is considered a pick 1 contender for 2020 so there is merit to the trade, but if the opportunity presents to get Luko the crows would go all in on that. Luko is better no doubt but Thil would still be a nice prospect to build a forward line around.

For sure luko would be also fair but if they are adamant this year's 1 and 2 are off the table and luko is off the table, then next year's first would easily get the deal done

It wouldn’t surprise me if there are significant strings attached to GC receiving Pick 1/2 as a priority pick. A significant part of which being they need to be bringing in A-Grade established talent.

Now whether this involves 1 or 2 Crouch’s or picks 1/2 I don’t know, but it wouldn’t surprise if they were given the extra pick and told they had to trade it, whilst also giving them “ambassadorships” to help entice players.

Draft picks are going to do SFA to help GC, they’ve had mountains of the things yet are worse off than when they started. Any rescue package needs to do a hell of a lot more!

He’s contracted so they wouldn’t need to. Wait till halfway through next year to determine whether he can actually put more than 1 year together.

It’s a bit risk reward. If he shows he can do it again - yeah worth 750k- 800k
If he shows he’s not over injuries - that plummets.
He’s wanting to get ahead of the gam, secure long term guaranteed money and make good on his injury free year.

I can’t see Adelaide trading him this year unless he demands out or they are offered a stupid overs figure (like these pick 1 suggestions)
We will be gaining alot of cap space over the next two years, so when his contract is up we can.pay as good as anyone.
And if he still chooses to leave, with us set to drop down the ladder even the compo pick would be good.

That would be absolutely moronic of the AFL. Putting in conditions like that devalues the pick because every club knows they can lowball Gold Coast since they must trade it. The entire point from Gold Coast's perspective is to get two top players who will reduce each other's go home factor, that's a benefit they can't get in most other circumstances.

Straight up BS. Every champion team had plenty of top talent. I suppose the pick 2 that got Trent Cochin to Richmond wasn't going to help them either? Or the pick 3 that got them Dusty?

I mentioned it about a week ago as I went to school with the Crouchs and have good friends who are still very good mates with them.

The 6 year $5,000,000 is 100% on the table from GC.
