You have a point here, if your looking at having an average year and I do obviously hope that's the case then yes your compo pick for a deal that size will be band 1 and you'll have a pick around that 5 - 6, do as you said anything that is unders this year isn't worth the trade.

The actual offer above is a realistic offer you could finish anywhere next year.

You assuming your club will be bottom 4 doesn’t mean they will be.

They could easily finish 6th bottom and get pick 7 which is worse than pick 20 + 11..

You can take pick 11 and 20 on the table or take a punt that you’ll be definitely bottom 4 to end up with something better next year. I know which one i’d be taking.

It wouldn’t surprise to see you finish above any of GC, St Kilda, Carlton, Freo, North, Port, Hawthorn or Melbourne.

I know you’re assuming the absolute worse but putting that out as if it’s fact and realistic is quite odd.

I think we won’t be very good next year either but just absolutely assuming as fact you’ll be bottom 4 when you were in a GF 2 years ago and have 3/4 of that list still in your 22 is strange.

Thats because clubs normally want to be working in good faith with everyone. But if the Crows are refusing reasonable offers on Crouch, and its not normally a club that is a great chance of being the wooden spooner involved.

Adelaide have every right to get the best deal for a contracted and required player. Just like we did with CC, Lever and McGovern, we will get his full worth. The PSD will have nothing to do with it.
He will win our B&F and would be GCs best mid, by a long way. For that they will have to pay.
If they think they can keep pick 1 and 2, as well Luko and Rankine and just offer us their sloppy seconds then they learn a valuable lesson.
