Well, they haven’t been yet & its been stated from the SYD viewpoint for some time now.
Why his management group hasn’t been asked to clarify by now is staggering but the reporting continues.
There’s a difference between reporting vs speculative opinion.
He’s obviously of the opinion that Betts was a top priority target that has to now be sent to the back of the line after getting commitments from Papley and Martin. Which is simply dumb and was never true.

They are hugely unique though. Green Bay also has a metro area of 300,000 so abit bigger than Hobart. They also have a city the size of Perth which has no team and is closer than what Launceston is to Hobart.

Seems as though the caller has jolted them into finally clarifying the status of Pap’s contract status with Swans.
They are now planning to have his manager on AFL Trade Radio to clsrify.
Facts only matter when the timing is relevant. Exhibit A:“Journos” finally asking the right questions about Papley’s supposed 2023 contract situation.
Pre-Papley nomination - Papley is contracted for 4 years. He's unlikely to leave the Swans and they won't let him go.
After-Papley nomination - He's only contracted for 2 years with a trigger for another 2 at the player's call.
Media choose when to do their research and when to use facts to sway or go along with the narrative.
Also on contracts, they almost mean squat in today's player-driven market. If a player wants to go, they have a lot of power. It all then comes down to what the club who holds them is willing to accept in return.

Anyone claiming to be an AFL "journalist", should have been all over this from the get go. It defies all logic that a player would trigger an extension clause and THEN seek to relocate. This highlights how atrocious the AFL media has become.
Lesson for us: believe very little of what you see & hear in the AFL media.

Green Bay also has the city of Milwaukee (population of over 2 million) and is the only team in the state of Wisconsin (population of just under 6 million). They have a big market to draw supporters from.
Free access to their own academy without having to compete with anyone is is kind of like their own draft.
Especially now that they have NT in their "zone".
