Port is a bigger s**tshow than the Crows with Hinkley in charge. Luko will stay, but in the event he leaves it wont be to Port. Thats for sure.
Hardly, Port have a great group of young players. Hinkley will be gone this time next year and port will look like a completely different side going into 2021.

Suns could pay him 800k a year for 5 years and the AFL could say no worries we will cover 400k a year with an afl ambassador role so that will make it a band 2 or 3
That sounds exactly like something the AFL would do too

Gold Coast need to offer overs (within reason) if necessary to get this done. There's no guarantee Crouch picks Gold Coast in a year's time. Plus the better they do this year, the more likely they are to be able to re-sign Lukosius and King. So if the Crows won't take any of the priority picks (besides pick 2) that have been awarded, I'd offer up the natural 2020 first, but I wouldn't go over that. It gives Adelaide a better chance at a top 4 pick than they'd get from FA compensation. If I know anything about trading with Adelaide, you've got to make it worth their while.

You would think after Luko has rejected a contract extension ATM, he would be the ideal swap for crouch

Curious to see what it would take for the GC to part with 1 and 2.

If:
- there is agreement from both sides that Crouch is worth pick 2 by virtue of the Weller precedent
- you agreed to trade 1 for 4, there is a hypothetical shortfall of 966 points that needs to be made up. Pick 23 (815 points) reduces that to 151 points (~pick 60.)
- from there it depends on what you think Greenwood is worth. Probably worth slightly more than 60. Maybe 40 odd?

1 and 2 for 4, 23, Crouch and Greenwood gives the GC a gain of at best ~300 points (an early third rounder), or par if you don't rate the idea of Crouch being worth 2.

Crows could (and probably should) throw in a future pick to get the deal done.

The currency is there to get the deal done quite easily without giving 1, 2 or Luko now.

2019 2nd pick 20
2020 mid 1st pick 10/11

2019 1st pick 14
2020 mid 1st pick 10/11

Either one of those combos would get it done you’d think if he is willing to take their deal. The 2nd is probably overpaying as you very very rarely see someone going for 2 top 15 picks unless they are a top 20, AA quality player. So you’d think for a 85 game, 7 year player, with questionable injury history and factually and visibly poor disposal the 1st offer is by far enough.

Adelaide could take the gamble that 2 top 20 picks isn’t enough, try to lose as many games as they can next year and potentially end up with something ranging from pick 3-15 as compensation for him as a RFA. Likely around pick 6-10 (imo).

This is called wishful thinking, and until Luko hits uncontracted status and makes it clear he wants to leave, you should probably let go.

Melbourne were expected to be top 4 and finished 17th.
Brisbane were expected to be bottom 4-6 and finished 2nd.
Bulldogs were expected to be bottom 4-6 and finished 7th.

In 2017 Richmond went from 13th to winning a premiership with pretty much the same list.

You made a GF 2 years ago with more than half of your best 22 still in the best 22 now.

Don't underestimate what changing a coach, culture and player turnover can actually positively do to a team, rather than just expecting it to be a huge negative and you're destined to be bottom 4.

There's a lot more chance that your pick could be anywhere from 3-15 than saying it's DEFINITELY pick 5 and you're DEFINITELY finishing bottom 4.
That's what is just odd.

Looking at GC, Fremantle, North, Hawks, Melbourne, St Kilda, Port there's no way you can 100% say that Adelaide will be worse than 4 of these 7 teams.

So Gold Coast has chatted to Brads management and said he has a “healthy” view of his price. So in other words he is asking for over what he is worth.

Yet Gold Coast are interested and still chatting to his management. So they are trying to get a contracted player and then say pick 2 is off the table, Lukosius is off the table. If everything the crows want is off the table maybe don’t go and chat to a contracted player you muppets. No wonder this club is at where it is. It is run by imbeciles
