Starting to feel Levi/TDK could be a better combination given both are better when resting forward
Without injury Kruez is more important than Levi, and TDK is the future in waiting. Levi had a great year but to be honest if we were luckier with injury he probably would have not got back in the team and we wouldn't be having a discussion about his contract.

Listening to Tom Browne is aggravating. Why the hell do I do it.
States GCS can get a first round pick for Martin next year under free agency. I have an exclusive for you Browne you flog, he is out of contract this year, he won't be signing with them for next year to forfil free agency.

Yet if Martin had of nominated Hawthorn, someone would say Hawthorn can get him for pick 50, everyone would agree and move on.

I find Sam Maclure and Nick Del Santo interesting to listen to. Del Santo really takes his time and works through the conclusions that Maclure has drawn (especially on other clubs who I have no clues about)..

FWIW, I agree. Dal is really trying to analyse and see what might work. They’re quite fun to listen to.

Not disputing that, although in the modern game I just don't rate ruckmen unless they are capable resting forwards and it has been well over 10 years that a pure elite ruckman only was part of a flag

Prefer more flexiblility

Gold Coast looking for help getting Greenwood without giving up one of their top 20 picks. Possibly will be our future second to Adelaide in a roundabout 3 way trade.
Any additional pick swaps or picks in our direction?

Is Phillips worth a second rounder in a trade to the * ? If so could always be used for Martin. (Asking this not knowing if they even have a second this year)
I doubt clubs would give anything for Phillips, and there's a good chance he might be delisted at the end of the trade period.

Disagree...what they should stop is clubs at the top of the ladder signing Free Agents and keeping their picks. It's contrary to any equalisation.

How Richmond signed Lynch last year and kept their first pick is beyond me...

That should have been shipped to GCS as compensation

Can everyone please stop and think before posting these changes........it’s our turn to get some advantage!!! There is nothing wrong with the current system. FFS

This talk of phillips going to essendon. Now makes sense.
I have heard carlton have talked to Lachlan Delahuntly from Subiaco.
Won sandover medal.
Undersized ruckman who used to play for Frankston.
Same age and could fill void till TDK comes of age.
SOS loves Wa recruits.
Delahuntly would be a good get. Essentially plays as a tall wingman at subi.
Would struggle against the monster ruckman at Afl level but would generally smash them around the ground, somewhat like Marshall from the saints.

An average game from Lachlan has been ~25-30 touches, 25-30 hit outs and a goal.

This arrangement has pissed me off for years. But soon it will be our turn to pillage and that will be more acceptable.

Fair point EJ.

I'm guilty of going for the cheap laugh. I actually think there's something to work with Polson. I admire his agression and tackling. Reckon he's one of the best tacklers on our list.

Cheers, I really hope Polson makes it, the club clearly still thinks he has plenty to offer :)

Interesting article about Carlton choosing between Ellis and Martin. Wonder if getting Martin was the reason we didn’t take Ellis.

Still rating Martin as a future first pick. Uncontracted players don’t go for first rounders. EVER.

Not sure why so much focus on Fisher's year.

Yeah, he went 5-10% backwards, but his 2018 was way above expectations (was statistically the AFL's best teenager).

We won 1 match until mid-year, with huge pressure on coach and club. Andthen in the second half of the year he was shuffled off to a HFF.

Is anyone really surprised he didn't take another step up this year?

I am quite critical on Fisher, well i have been this year, i thought he went backwards but im more worried about traits in his game that i see, rather than his lack of form/improvement. He's one that i see regularly running 5M alongside opposition players when they have ball in hand and not applying any pressure or trying to tackle, he regularly runs away from opposition with the ball too.

It seemed in games this year to be unhappy and that he was feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Despite this, I've seen plenty of really good traits that will hold him in good stead going forward and as a lightly built guy, he may be cautious or lack confidence. I hope its a body and experience thing as doubt and lack of confidence has stagnated many players careers. Talk of trading him is crazy but i hope to see improvement in his game next year.

I love andy & bob, even when they have to discuss golf!

Suns are clearly offering a truck load more money. Ellis would have been mad to pass that up.

Hypothetical article with no substance. Martin chose to play for us on less money than he was offered at the dogs whereas Ellis thought he could squeeze some more money out of us when the AFL cockblocked the Cogs deal.

Id rather a player with a high ceiling than a plodder who was made to look better than he is in a team full of A grade talent.
