The potential is always there, but injuries play such a large part in a trade worth - and in the last 2 years, he has been injured
Look at JOM and Scully as examples
JOM hasn't missed a beat since changing club's and Scully came back in round 2 when nobody had him pegged to be back until at least the 2nd half of the season if at all. Goes to show what a good club's handling of players injuries can do, or perhaps Hawthorn were just plain lucky.

Wouldn't surprise me to have Dodoro using his injury to drive down his price either. Sydney are probably getting a bargain at least in terms of contract value and will be able to afford to pay big when Franklin retires which must be next year. Just feel like he's body is breaking down with age now and won't be able to go on much longer.

And is seeking a trade to Carlton or the dogs"

yes please

Would it hurt our reputation if we wooed a player for ages then get them to publicly request a trade to us then pull out late due to a better offer?

Or is it a case of who cares, we are Carlton F the rest?
Would it hurt the integrity of a player/player manager/club to negotiate with, presumably, an expectation that negotiations remain confidential; but then to publicly reveal aspects of those negotiations when things don't go as desired? I think it might. I applaud Blues for saying nothing about those negotiations.

"Facebook" and "trades/rumours' yeah I'd say he's just signed a 12 year contract then

Missed basically the whole first season, and has never got beyond the Sheed/B. Crouch level despite full fitness the last few years. His kicking has also deteriorated horribly.

I definitely think they’ve done well to get him on the park, but it also goes to show how much an impact injury can have. He was projected to be one of the better players in the league at this point in time.

Whats the latest update on Ellis?
Read earlier his manager was unhappy with Carlton because we were losing interest in him. Considering his a free agent though and we don't have to give anything up, why isn't he still on our radar?

Ellis, Martin, Papley and Betts would be a great mix of experience and youth
