So lets do some comparisons now that voting has finished.

Boak got 179 out of max of 440 votes = 40.7% of maximum possible votes

Gray's effort of 53.07% of the maximum vote in 2014, equates to 233 votes out of 440 in 2019.

Boak got 179 which is 76.8% of 233 votes which is better than the 64.1% of Robbie's votes back in 2014.

DBJ's 168 votes or 93.8% of what Boak got, which is consistent with 2013 + 2015-2018 2nd place getters votes as a percentage of the winner.
Boak got 53.64% of the maximum votes from us (59/110).
Gray has finished second with 57.63% of Boak's total (34 v 59).

For us, it was pretty much Boak, then daylight.

Since the line-coaches had to pick five players from their respective lines, I think that made the official race closer than ours. Perhaps, next season, we could vote in a top-5, plus a top-5 from each line.

I didn't see Ollie on the Facebook photos posted by the club.
You would have to think that the captain (even if only half) of the club would attend the best and fairest presentation

Ollie was there.

Nope.

This is the first time they have voted this way. Note sure why the change but they will change it again in a few years. But its probably also why the % of the maximum vote is different to last year.

I added an extra column to the 2018 vs 2019 comparisons to show the % of maximum votes people got.

You wont get the whole function, but if you go to the club's website there are all the interviews and speeches on PTV videos on the home page.

Compare the pair stuff.

The votes for our biggest win of the year against Saints 70 pts in Shanghai and 20 of 22 players polled votes. Farrell and Ryder didn't get votes.

Round 11 votes v St Kilda
  1. Boak, 14. Bonner, R. Gray, 13. Houston, 9. Howard, Lycett, 8. Amon, Duursma, 7. Burton, Butters, Byrne-Jones, Lienert, 6. Jonas, 5. Westhoff, 4. S. Gray, Motlop, Rozee, 3. Ryder, 2. Broadbent, Powell-Pepper

and our biggest loss vs North by 86 pts and only 6 players polled votes, only Burton in defence got votes.

Round 22 votes v North Melbourne
  1. Rozee, 4. R. Gray, 3. Burton, 2. Boak, Houston, 1. Amon

Good to see young players fill spots 2 - 5 and a couple more in the top 10.

Some good young talent to work with. Keep the band together and keep adding to the mix.

So happy for Boaky, such a well deserved win. I know it's his second B&F but the first was as a young guy in a team that won three games, shared with a teammate and under a dubious voting system. This is genuine and really affirms him as a great of the club.

You just can't speak highly enough of Travis. His commitment to the club right across the journey when he's had every reason - football and non-football - to bail on us. His commitment to being the best that he can be as a player. His charity work with young kids that he does away from the cameras and seeks no recognition for. He's the ultimate professional and the ultimate role model for all of our players on what type of footballer you should be and also what type of person you should be.

Well done Travis. So, so well deserved.

Did anyone else think it was a bit harsh that Hinkley poo-pooed Dan Houston's proposed thank you speech?

I think Houston didn't want to say anything and Ken was ribbing him by pretending he wanted to do a speech.

Great post. Well said.
His dad would have been so proud.
I hope his mum was there to enjoy the night and celebrate with her son.
