So what happens when we get a new coach, have a bad season and the players start blaming the camp again? When does it go from being a necessary criticism to being a tired excuse?
Given the majority of the ones that had issues with it have or are leaving I think it’ll be a thing of the past.
Just a shame the players had to solve the problem not the club.

:D ....Is that why Millenials are running to physciatrists evertime they suffer in life .....outspoken, idealic, but no resilience to handle lifes best

At least they've sporned a burgoning industry of head doctors

No I think you find often that its because they were either raised by stoners or by selfish self centred parents that thought they could just buy there kids happiness.

Now on a serious note and I mean serious you raise a interesting perception. Maybe if more older people sort help the following statement wouldn't be true.
The highest proportion of suicide deaths occur among young and middle aged people, while the proportion decreases in progressively older age cohorts. More than half of all suicide deaths in 2018 (54.8%) occurred between the ages 30 and 59.
I think people need to stop kidding themselves that the older generation are tougher, better or more resilent. Every generation has its serious issues.

The key comment I took from CEY's interview was ....It Divided the group ...and by that, meaning the Playing list
Yep.

I was just told the purpose of the camp and that as part of that there was a session where some truths were told.

And it was ran poorly

I am guessing a few things were said as part of that and players lost trust in each other

Very hard to get back once lost ....BUT CEY played career best footy this year ...so I don't accept the camp explanation from him

But I still havn't been given an adequate explanation of what happened over the byes ....to see th wheels fall off completly

Question why did some believe we needed a camp of this nature.
Is the reaction from the camp and excuse poeple can use move, or blame, yes it was done badly,
But the simple fact some believed we needed to run a camp of this type highights there was a problem, whether it was preception or actual belief it was still a problem.
Makes you wonder if our players could handle a Kokoda pre-season like Hawthorn had previously? Bugs? Wet shoes? No wifi ? 😂😂😂

Gotta love the clubs strategy about handling the camp fallout.

They denied until they couldnt any longer, had to get Pyke & Burton face the media after it had dragged on for weeks. They just wanted to bury it... ''we've moved on.''

Then 2018 was shit so it doesn't go away.

During this season, the rumours start up again about players wanting to leave - more camp stuff.

Then a player does leave, and cites the camp as the main factor - lo and behold, the camp is newsworthy again.

This wont be over until someone spills what happened exactly, and all the dirt comes out. It may come via Betts or Jenkins, but we may also have to wait until someone retires. Looking forward to this being a distraction again at some point in the future.

Or, the club could just stop the bullshit, be honest with its members, sack those responsible, and it will all be done with once and for all.

Why do you think we're shipping out Betts, Jacobs, Jenkins, Ellis-Yolmen?
You seriously think the camp has anything to do with these trades? Betts and Jacobs are being traded because they're cooked. We didn't ship out CEY, he just took a longer contract offer elsewhere.

I'll give you Jenkins. He's a troublemaker and no longer has 40 goal a year seasons to cover his ass.

Here come the articles

Nothing new just rehash of old crap.

Even the quotes from Cam aren't particularly ground breaking.

This stuff is basically New Idea level journalism.
You dont reckon direct quotes from a player blaming the camp for two wasted seasons is anything new?

The club's ''nothing to see here approach'' is the reason why this is still being talked about, when clearly it was a huge issue.

We will have to wait until all the playing group retires I'd say.

Why all? I'd say the first one to retire with an axe to grind will tell all, or put it in their book.
Oh for sure it'll come out, I just think out of respect for their mates at the club they'll wait til their careers are all over.

This is the thing I find confusing. We run leading teams at Adelaide, which includes ongoing 360 reviews. Why did we need the stupid camp in the first place?

Oh the clubs handling was shit every one knows that. The issues with the players, everyone knows that.

CEY actually saying he didn't like it is the only new piece of info.

We aren't even losing him from the camp, the Crows didn't want to match the term he was after.

The camp was crap, the clubs handling was worse. But that's about it.

Interesting that Reid hinted we will be going after Lukosius next season. You would want to hope and pray that we have had the discussion with him and his manager about this to 1. ensure he holds off signing a contract extension & 2. To make sure he chooses us and not port as we don't want a bidding war with them as they WILL sell the farm to get him - they have shown that before when they want someone. Bu

CEY had a good individual season, it doesn't mean the playing group wasn't still fractured or divided.
