Let's be honest with ourselves, the main reason most of the ITK posters are giving us information is for the attention and back slapping they get from everyone here. Providing information to other supporters is usually secondary. Not saying it's bad or anything, just being realistic.

Not necessarily, could well be because they know how much the fans care and are interested. If you heard something about Carlton that was exciting would you tell noone or sit in silence? I would be posting it here and I suspect many others would also.

Actually makes a lot of sense to me. If Treloar is stung by a possible inclination to trade him out, you could understand him considering his options at a rival Melbourne club on the rise. And given the potential cost and impact on our other trade plans, you could understand the club being undecided about whether to pursue it.

Actually makes a lot of sense to me. If Treloar is stung by a possible inclination to trade him out, you could understand him considering his options at a rival Melbourne club on the rise. Could be a consequence of getting Dayne Beams which screwed their cap issues. To keep Grundy maybe they need to push a player out?

I think this is truer than ever. I know "40 is the new X" has been a saying forever, but nowadays so long as you look after yourself alright it really is.

My old man is 48 but still plays indoor cricket with myself and only a couple of years ago did Everest basecamp as well as a few other hikes in the region and is planning something similar in Alaska. Genuinely I'd back him to be faster than me over 5-10 metres - long distance I'd have him covered though - but the point is what used to be considered "old" really doesn't need to be these days. You really are only as old as you let yourself feel.

I'm gonna take this one a step further.

How could we land the three existing targets, plus Treloar?

Shortest route:

Picks 6 and 41 for Papley and 25.
Pick 25 for Martin (with a late pick swap favourable to GC?).
Pick 72 or 85 for Betts.
2020 first, 2020 second and Casboult for Treloar and 2020 second.

Pick swap with Collingwood assumes that they believe they can still finish above us next year. Reckon there could be some doubt about that if we pulled off those four acquisitions.

Possible circuit breaker - what would folks here think of including Dow in a trade for Treloar, in some capacity? Not ideal, but Treloar would probably keep Dow out of the side for a few years, and that might not be something Paddy is keen on.
