If the Bomber are into Cox and we are into sending him on, then it can only be part of some sort of strategy to land a targeted player IMHO.

Cox for a second round and cap relief
Cameron (of the non-Jeremy variety) comes in for a very late pick to replace Lynch for nt much alary cap differntial
Jenkins comes in on a low salary for a latish pick
Sharenberg goes out for a a third round and cap relief
Second round from Cox combined with our pick 35 and maybe another player/pick get bundled up to get us into the (late) first round

Maybe that all helps us land a big fish at the end of 2020 and in the short term Reid and Jenkins along with Mihocek (or Moore if we choose) are our key forwards.

In other words, keep Cox then its pretty big money and a three year deal. Replace him with Jenkins on base wage for one year and then you have maximum flexibilty to land Jeremy Cameron. I can see the logic in investigating the possibility but short term we might go backwards and theres still no guarantee of getting CAmeron

the thing with Moore is that rather than us throw the kitchen sink at a KPF theres one right there waiiting for us
Marcus Adams came into the team r20 after heaps of injuries and had to play forward back and tag and had no continuity.
then fagan put him on dustin martin which was a nightmare waiting to happen. Of course he was going to get a bag kicked on him. can you imagine if wed made the GF and bucks put roughead on dusty?
i just think adams is a decent player
1. Marcus Adams came into the Lions team in rd16
2. Marcus Adams hasn’t had ‘heaps of injuries’, they are always long-term though. He came off 1 injury - A long-term knee.
3. He never tagged anyone in his AFL career
4. He has never played forward for the brisbane lions (possibly ever in the AFL either)
5. 10 games straight is decent continuity.

If you’re going to talk about a player, can you at least have the slightest idea about them?

It’s highly unlikely he will be with us at the end of next season Cox anyway when he’s coming out of contract.

The names Grundy, JDG, Moore and Pendlebury will leave very little coin for him.

We should have let him go to Brisbane 2 seasons ago...yet we panicked and paid him out of fear more than anything.
Thank you again Derek Hine...this is why you don’t run List management any more and stick to what you do best—-recruiting.

I called this for months now and was hung to dry by plenty.

Thank god the club is on the same wave length as me here.

This is definitely one move we should defintitely be exploring on Cox—-and it helps from a salary cap standpoint too
You called for getting rid of Cox for next to nothing, and you stated you’d do it without any notable replacement. That was the mind boggling part.

See how Collingwood have Cameron and Howard lined up as potential replacements? Thats the difference. Don’t get on your high horse and say you were calling for this, because you didn’t 😂

He took us to within a kick of a premiership in 2018.

Wasn't he one of those rucks injured?
Yeah I think he missed a fair chunk of time, but was available for the last few rounds of the year
Still, he was "dominating" in the NEAFL the year before and only played 1 game (and did terribly)

If Cox is on big money then it makes sense to move him on. Jenkins played a bit of back up ruck for the Crows didn’t he?

A good outcome would be getting pick 37 from Essendon for Cox and use it on Howard.

Trade pick 56 for Jenkins, have him on 250k. Could save us around 300k in salary cap and scored an ability upgrade.

I think we are way too inward thinking if we think Jenkins is a massive upgrade to Cox (perhaps believing the hype and being let down instead of looking at him objectively?). If we enter 2020 with Cox/Mihocek/Jenkins it's pretty much down to form who will get into the side.

Jenkins is a Jesse White type. Obviously a lot better but there's a reason why Adelaide dropped him. He's not the tall target forward that is going to crash a pack. He's the guy you want to be the 2nd or 3rd option. He'll snap a few goals, take a few marks on the lead when it's kicked to him properly. He's more similar to Mihocek, if you take away Mihocek's workrate and add some height and athleticism. He is the poor man's Jeremy Cameron, not a budget Lynch/Hawkins/Ben Brown/Kennedy. I just don't think he fits our profile at all. If we he was a talented enough player or even in the 20-25 age range sure a tall forward with talent to burn, get him in regardless of his type, but he's not.
