Remember you guys win the flag in 2020, it doesnt matter what Kelly costs you.
Think of the Dogs with Boyd in 2016. Its worth it.

So many famous gryans, where do you start!Man i would love to have gryan dangerhaus on our list.
The thing is though you have to give to be able to receive otherwise very much doubt as to whether the trade would have ever eventuated. If it is true, Geelong is laughing as they gain 2 x 1st round pick just by selling an UNCONTRACTED player!

There's never any guarantees in life but think we have a better chance with Kelly IN our side than out of it.All our eggs are in the TK basket now.
If it doesn't yield a flag, we're in for a world of hurt. And there's some seriously strong teams gunning for the flag, so I don't understand why people interpret the TK trade as a guaranteed flag?
And yes, you're right. Pick 24 probably won't land us a TK quality player. But 14 + future 1st + 24 + 33 is also potentially our next Brander, OAllen, Ryan & Petch haul.
We didn't exploit anything, lol. We were right to hold him, considering how he went to another level this year and netted us a higher return. We could argue that you guys exploited his situation to get him for less than his worth last year...and go through that whole cyclical argument again. I choose to view how both clubs acted this year, when he had every right to leave as he had served his contract.
Ablett was also rejected in his first time requesting a trade, and his sister then unfortunately passed on. Are GC monsters, or were they within their rights? Carlton held onto Gibbs, despite lure of home etc. We entertained the trade, but what you offered was less valuable than TK was to us (a fact proven during our semi final match up against you, his AA standing, and Top 5 Brownlow finish).
Regardless, you can hold a grudge, or you can move on. Even your mods agree that there was nothing wrong with holding onto him last year. It's done now.
Any thoughts on how we went now
Any “failures” from the club with this proposed deal?
Would be incredibly disappointed if we end up giving 14, 24, 33 and next year's first to only receive back their 36 with kelly. That's a monumental trade in DVI terms. Probably the highest on record.
Is it due to the time difference that PN are so slow getting the news out!!Perth Now reporting its a done deal, probably tomorrow. Picks 14, 24 and next years first rounder and some lower round picks coming back.
Given they are losing their two wingmen in hill and Langdon it makes sense as a stopgap. Good luck to him.Masto in talks with Fremantle ....this has been an interesting day .
I thought GCS were uncaring.
And all the wells posturing was for the geelong fans benifit to not feel bent overFrom the horse's mouth - the final confirmation that everyone was happy and no-one hates anyone.
"Van Der Wielen said Kelly was thrilled that Geelong would secure enough picks to stock up on future stars.
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir and football boss Peter Bell both met with Van Der Wielen last week but the Dockers were never really in the race for Kelly.
“Tim is a bit nervous because it’s not done until it’s done but he’s pretty comfortable with where it’s at.
“Tim will be quite happy Geelong are going to be rewarded. Tim wants Geelong to pick up 200-game players out of the picks they get and he can feel part of their resurgence. He hasn’t left them in the lurch. He has nothing against the Geelong footy club.”
The Kelly camp was adamant a deal should be brokered that was fair to both parties without Kelly having to threaten to enter the pre-season draft."

Proof that everything else was speculation, and everyone moves on with no ill will. Perfect outcome.
Then you need to change your user name to Nostradamus lolNah, it was more that I said not 5 minutes before the trade was revealed, that we should just take the picks and not get WC to do the heavy lifting to trade up for better picks. That it gets it done quicker, and everyone can move on.
Not 5 minutes later, that's exactly what happened.

Masto in talks with Fremantle ....this has been an interesting day .
Gee, Clayton is used to having at least a dozen top 20 picks per year. The next two seasons are going to be a shock to the system!
Then you need to change your user name to Nostradamus lol![]()
Freo played it straight, both WA clubs are pretty good and back off when a player nominates one club or the other. But did they really or was that media speculation and Geelong supporters being hopeful. From my information Freo couldn't even get a discussion with them.
SPPOk howdy folks, first time poster here. Assuming this Kelly deal goes through on we are taking either 33 or 36 to the draft as our first pick then who do you think we will target with that pick? Who might still be available? Cheers.
