Nothing wrong with attempting but the way the bloke went about it with quotes like this show that he wants to make the whole show about himself

Was widely reported that he backed himself to convince him to stay and was shocked when he said he still wanted to leave.

Then the comment about how they will not be chasing Hogan, then the 180 backflip. Hardly worth listening to what he says.

Bloke thinks he is Kevin Costner in the movie Draft Day.

Get the feeling he really enjoys the sport of negotiating this type of stuff. He obviously has every right to try and maximise outcomes for his club.
So Bell is saying that it would be an achievement for him to convince Neale to stay.

wow, so egotistical.

We really don’t know the Saints offer was or Dockers counter. Just media either making stuff up or being feed stuff.

Other thing in the negotiations, the seller starts high and the buyer starts low.

The issue now is that pick 12 is the danger zone for Fremantle.

Henry is projected to go 10-15.

Saints will need to trade up for a top 10 pick or arrange a three way or four way trade.

The balls are in the Saints court.

Or you take 12 and Acres. Done Deal where’s the RWB polo.

So many rumours floating around.

What actually happened was Lethlean was sitting down and Bell walked into the room. Pick 6 was agreed the previous day and Bell wanted to look Lethlean in the eyes and shake hands on a deal well done.

What happened next was Lethlean stood up, and due to the height difference Lethleans knob (know for it) slapped Bell across the forehead. As you can imagine he wasn't happy (little man syndrome) with that and demanded 2 first rounders and a 3rd.

Lethlean walked out and called him a Bellend.

No trade done.

TBC

You know what if someone in the AFL reported that, I’d believe them.

In this case you are bidding on four houses. You have a limited budget but have committed to buying all four. You are crapping yourself.

Bell will only win the trade if there is no trade.

Yes but the 4 houses are all different prices.

Hill - very good player, but not a superstar
Howard- an emerging good player
Jones- average to good player, but has some qualities we need
Ryder- a former very good player now with only a year or so left. Will come cheap. Probably will be steak knives in the Howard deal.

Out is:
Bruce who will attract a decent deal
Steven who will go for unders

With say 12, 18, 21, 37 and maybe a pick from next year, or some steak knives players. That is ok for those 4 players.

Wiping it all out by paying a Kelly like price for just Hill is madness, and clearly will not happen.

This deal hasn’t magically appeared this week, only to stall today. Both Freo and Saints have known Hill’s desire for months. Very likely that Bell made it perfectly clear to Saints and Hill what would be required to get the deal done well before now. If Saints have offered a 5 year deal knowing what Freo want, then they’ll get it done.

Knowing what Freo were after and THEN being so public about bringing Hill in, if it falls over due to not meeting Freo’s requirements from months ago then it will ALL be on St Kilda.

Of course, if Bell mysteriously upped his price this week, then different story.

How did the deal go from
Monday; Peter Bell; We’ve had good chats with the Saints and a deal is close
To
Thursday; Damien Barrett; On opposite poles.

In 24 hours the deal went from Friday this week to Wednesday next week. Jesus.

Nothing wrong with splitting your picks as I understand that you had to move on with other deals. But there is literally a 0% chance that Freo accept an offer that is much worse than a previous offer, that's all I'm saying.

That may be. In which just as well we are moving on.

So you think that the List Managers are driven by how they look in the media, rather than doing what is best for their club?

If that is Bell's mindset then this trade is doomed.
I think St kilda could end up with pick 12, 18 with bruce and Steven staying. Trying to get too many players without one getting done.

Everyone's being fed the trade machine.

None of this is real. All drama spruced up by the trade radio crew. You are all plebs.
News tomorrow will say that they are confident of convincing him to stay in purple and are tabling an improved contract. Merry go round continues.
I think these two quotes are the closest thing to true in here.

We've had 1 trade (which has been worked on for a year) and a pick swap in 4 days - it's boring as ****. The "information" everyone is referring to in here is literally from sources that rely on people like us listening to them. It's almost like they have an incentive to try and make it more dramatic than it really is.

Same Brad Hill that didn't make the AA 40 squad? Same Brad Hill that couldn't poll more than 4 brownlow votes? Hell even a 20kg overweight Jack Steven polled 3 votes in a handful of games.

Get your hand off it.
Judges an outside winger by brownlow votes. Oh what a cutie. What's next, defenders are crap because they don't poll votes?

It is widely agreed that Hill is one of the best at his position. I think he is the best winger in the league and dominated at the Hawks when he was surrounded with talent.

No offense Freo but you are not loaded as the Hawks were.

Media report 900k a year contract that Lethlean says is false
Freo supporters uses it to justify there argument.

Media reports Freo asking for massive overs when Stkilda offers a fair deal
Freo supporters now say media is unreliable and it’s a stkilda conspiracy leaking fake info

Gotta love delusional fans
Because you totally publicly admit a players salary to the country, that 100% happens...

A "fair deal" which saints fans, who are hilariously actually quoting Tom Morris of all people, keep getting wrong. You offered #6 and a 2020 third, not second, third. Tom Morris has yet again lied and the respectable journos have actually publicly told everyone what the offer was, but hey, you guys keep quoting Morris, it's working a treat for you.

PREDICTIONS:
1/ Deal will either now not get done OR will be something like Pick 12 plus St Kilda's 2020 Second Rounder (or equivalent from this year).

2/ That tomorrow that Young and Bell will have an interesting chat.
