I understand the razor sharp mind bit, because I read Danni's post, but the soft underbelly bit and its relationship to being a Football manager escapes me. I would really appreciate it if you could explain your meaning to me, as I like to get a picture of people in the Club that I do not know well.
So many posters here have painted some wonderful picture of players etc. so I would appreciate it if you could elaborate further for me.
The only impression I have of him, is that he is completely trusted by Leigh Mathews.

I am still wondering about your point about Gubby having a "soft underbelly" and how you came to this conclusion. Can you share some info with us?

Sorry I didn't reply quickly, I have been on an afternoon shift and am getting ready to do the same today.Sometimes on does not have the time to reply to things.

I meant it as a compliment.The perception is of Gubby is a man of steel, who has a heart of gold.A man who has run our Football Department to get us where we are, razor sharp,can do a million things at once.I have seen him watching Under 18 trial games preseason, and he is always on the go.Yet stops to talk and engage people.

can I make just suggestion here with regards to what you have just acknowledged. If you are just passing through and don't have a lot of time to make your post, perhaps wait until you do. This way if you have a comment to make you can take the time to explain it fully rather than the current hit and run style of posting that has inflamed a few posters.

Ordinarily this is the sort of thing I would send to someone via a PM as I have done to you in the past but for the purpose of transparency and discussions on another thread I felt it appropriate to post this here.

Thankyou Campbell. This paints a very different picture to the one your oriiginal post created for me. I now feel quite positive about this person with two glowing endorsements from people who obviously know the man.
