"the creation of a new position, Head of Leadership and Culture, to deliver a new player leadership program across all areas of the football department, including AFL and AFLW"

Sounds like it's for the players
I suspect (but don't know for sure) the high performance guys that were brought in before the external review was announced, highlighted the need for some work in this area and relating to the obvious disconnect between players and the footy department.

Whoever it is they need qualifications - at least 5 years working as a clinical psychologist and sports psychology. This way, we don’t have to worry about anymore messy camp trips.

But seriously, sounds like it has to be someone who has experience in a perpetual winning culture and has played footy.
Someone like a Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell type?

What HR qualifications does she have.

Daresay the person who gets this job will be a HR profesional unknown to the general public.

A lot of great leaders have no formal qualifications.

Don't want a pen pusher, need someone who can inspire and create a winning culture.

That is the kind of ethos that got Burton hired.....

Carlton, Collingwood, Brisbane, GWS, Hawthorn already have this position.

Jane Woodlands-Thompson or Pods would be great for this type of role.

They ideally would be experienced in this field, doesn't need to be an ex-player.

Needs to be a great communicator, highly approachable and be able to drive the clubs values in a strong but caring manner.

Apparently Roo has another friend for this job.

The AFL has endorsed him. People in the industry have said wonderful things about him. In fact everybody’s wondering why we’re even interviewing, they’re saying just give it to him.

It's okay, he loves the club and if it doesn't work out he can always do another external review. Long live Roo and Chappy. :rainbow:

Looking at other clubs, these aren't people that are well known. At Essendon, they have Luke Ball who's role is called "Manager, People Performance", works with the players and the Leadership group and reports to their General Manager of People and Culture, Lisa Lawry.

Someone completely external to football, but experienced in high performing teams would be great.

Agree totally.

This position needs to be filled by a non-football, non-Adelaide Crows and preferably non-Adelaide person.

The person needs to have significant experience in similar roles in high-performing teams which have undertaken fundamental cultural change.

They also need to be given the power to implement fundamental change in the culture of the AFC at the lowest level without unnecessary or overriding influence from the current Boys Club.

This role will be PIVOTAL in implementing fundamental change within the club and should be able to do so without fear or favour or a "self-preservation" mindset as the review called it.

So.......whats the bet that none of this will happen???????

I nominate Erin Phillips.

Reckon she could go on to be a men’s coach, but if we could tie her down to a role beneath her like this, then we should be all over that.

This job is quite likely a pen pusher one.

Mainly to make sure there is a level of accountability with hires and not just mates with the owner/board member etc.

I don't know how the onfield side will work, though it may also to be to vet leadership group selections as well.
