I like North's strategy here. Having two firsts next year is a strong draft hand. Teams will be hunting points so they can "beat" the compromised nature of the draft.

If Melbourne are looking for small forwards in the first round then they're outta their minds. You don't draft small forwards that high unless they're generational caliber talents at the position (e.g. Rankine and Stephenson). Weightman is a solid player but he's not "potentially the top pick in the draft talent" like the aforementioned names.

The AFL can send * an email each year that says trade period is only three days long. We can print off trade period posters with the fake end date. *'s Intranet can redirect to a bogus website showing trade period is only three days long. Everyone that speaks to Dodo is in on the act too.

Dodo can drag his feet until the end of day 3. At the end of that a journo writes a fake trade wrap declaring * the winners and then dodo goes on holidays.

Everybody else can then spend the next week completing their deals without the Adrian "human roadblock" Dodoro

I'd watch it...just hidden cameras just follow him around from when he wakes up in the morning until goes bed at night, capturing all his pep talks to himself.

I’ve heard directly from a list manager that Essendon and Dodoro are in fact very keen on Papley and Papley is open to going there. Not saying our ITKs are wrong ... clearly, just saying there is opposing talk out there in the corridors or Marvel stadium

Daniher won't happen. Swans are too smart to blink at the last moment and cough up 2 firsts. Unlike Dodoro.

Grab him next year, rehabbed, fit, as a RFA.

It has to be said that Melbourne will get a much softer draw next season on account of finishing 17th this year. Would be very satisfying if this backfires on Norf !

Norf have a lot more to lose if this goes pear shaped for them than The Dees (IMHO)

I don't see it that way.

Reckon the gap between players at 8 and 26 this year will be marginal, especially if Melbourne are taking a small forward with it. NM also get Pick 50 for a project player. And they pick up an extra first rounder next year. Even if Melbourne make a prelim, it's still 16, 26 and 50 for Pick 8, which looks OK for NM. If Melbourne only improve halfway up the ladder it's 26 and 50 for free by delaying Pick 8 one year. And if Melbourne drop their bundle, NM are getting 26, 50 and a delayed pick upgrade into the top 5. No way NM lose on this deal, plenty of scope for Melbourne to get egg all over their faces.
