is it just me or are GWS much friendlier dealing with some clubs compared with others

Personally think GWS are in a lot more trouble cap wise than GC. Hence their eagerness to move on Scully Patton etc to relieve cap. But also they have talent to burn on their list and don't seem to worry about "strengthening a fierce rival".

They also have given away highly paid injury riddled players for unders. Scully dropped of this year and probably won’t get back to the heights he had previously due to age. Patton will be the same.

When they’ve lost players they were keen to keep like Shiel they got value.

Hope not. I want the Hill trade to die so Freo doesn't have first access to all the good WA talent.

They've only got 7 and 22 currently.

And this is why they’ll do a deal for Hill

No trade they get 7 and Henry. And they’d go into points deficit if a bid comes earlier than 14 for Henry

Get another two picks inside 20 for Hill and they pick the eyes out of the WA pool

Trade Aish in for a future 3rd and they’ve replaced Langdon with an equally talented player on less money

Makes for a pretty decent trade period tbh

They always do well but their picks give them the opportunities too , plus they ain't a top team so other clubs go easy if it was us we'd lose the trade because we're in contention .

End up with Robertson, Henry, and one of Jackson or Sharp would be pleasing for them

They could honestly walk away with 3/4 of Robertson, Sharp, Rivers, Jackson + Henry.

And after being burnt by Hill, Neale and Langdon all wanting to leave the state, you can see the appeal.

And they'll lose Brad Hill and Ed Langdon in the process. Of course they also lost Lachie Weller and Lachie Neale in the past couple of years too.

They might contend in a few years but for now let's enjoy their path to shitness in 2020.

As they always say, bird in the hand.

The Giants could absolutely have got more trading Patton to one of the other nine Victorian teams. Why didn’t they do that? Oh, Patton didn’t want to go there? Understandable, have a nice day.
Yep, Essendon is the one that comes to mind. You'd be packing Daniher's car for pick 5 if you're replacing him with Patton for a third rounder.

Zac Smith, who wasn't even offered a contract by Geelong, is getting traded for pick 58 which will be better than what GWS get for Patton. To make it even worse Geelong will then be using pick 58 for Steven. Which mean Geelong are getting a 4 time club champ for the cost of a player they didn't even ****ing offer a contract to!

At the rate they are losing midfield players Mundy could well play on until he's 40 and hit the 400 club..........

Yep that's fair enough, but personally i'd rather if we miss out on WA talent it's to Victoria or another interstate side.

At least they could potentially come home, which wouldn't be the case if they were already here obviously.

Given we don't trade with Fremantle, any selection by the Dockers pretty much means a line through that player ever playing for West Coast.

Thought it was an ok bet. 26 and 50 and the chance that get pick 10’ish back next year as well. Doubt Melbourne are going to be top 6

I feel like Melbourne are going to bounce back next year, they have too much talent not to...as long as they don't butcher their pre-season injury management again.
