MVP traditionally comes from a top 2 seed so don't get too tricky with that. It's also rare someone comes from nowhere to win (I think only Nash in recent history has won it without polling a vote the year prior). For me the contenders are

Greek, Harden, Embiid and AD. Not that Harden/rockets should finish top 2 in the west but he's huge statistically. Don't think GSW do enough to keep Steph relevant here and think Kawhi, LBJ and AD rest/injuries prevent them winning.

Steer clear of Simmons. Embiid is the king there

RJ Barrett a decent ROTY get. Zion an obvious favourite but too short there.

Phili my pick to win it all but no use betting now. Odds will be similar come May provided they don't have a 65 win season

2016/17 Westbrook won MVP but OKC were nowhere near contenders. Do still feel you have a chance if your in a team with 1 major star in it but like you said it most likely has to be a contender deep in the playoffs.

Can someone please explain to me how GSW are paying $12?

I understand no Durant but they're still elite and have chemistry with one another.

The competition is a bit more even this year. It seems like the contenders have at least 2 stars on their team. Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Houston, 76ers, Milwaukee (if you class Middleton as a star), Utah (Gobert/Mitchell/Conley Jr), Brooklyn (KD if fit/Irving), Dallas (Doncic/Porzingis), Denver, Portland, Pelicans (Zo/Zion/Holiday)

Western Conference will be tighter than ever.

No bench at all, KD gone. Lost Iggy who was a great defender as well.

They need to stay healthy, get Klay back at 100% and starters play 45 mins all through playoffs. Or if they get Klay 100% fit, trade D-Lo for some depth players...

I can't see it. I think they'll slip outside the top 4 of the west tbh, maybe lower.

my West predictions in terms of rank

Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Utah, Houston, Denver, Portland, Dallas

New Orleans, Spurs, Suns, Kings, Memphis, OKC, Timberwolves

New Orleans and Spurs are not bad sides to have outside the playoffs but Spurs will miss the playoffs this season in my opinion under Pop. Spurs have the missed for only 2 of the past 31 seasons but feel this team has no star players and they are a team on the way down.

An 82 game season will eventually get to Zion but wouldn't be surprised if they snuck in the playoffs as they have the depth.

Total 3 Pt FG's made by Ben Simmons
0-10 = 1.83
11-20= 3.00
21-30= 6.00
31+ =10.00

Game 1 Props Ben Simmons v Boston
To make 1+ 3pt FG = 4.50
To make 2+ 3pt FG= 26.00
To attempt a 3pt FG= 1.80

TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS (NEDS):

I looked at the bottom ranked 17 teams
Miami, Spurs 1.50
Orlando 1.70
Detroit 2.05
Atlanta 3.25
Dallas 3.40
Sacramento 3.60
Pelicans 4
Chicago 4.25
Timberwolves, OKC 5
New York, Wizards 9
Memphis , Phoenix 15
Charlotte 19
Cleveland 21

Value I see there is with Pelicans and Dallas. Does anyone here have either of those 2 sides making the playoffs this season?

Ja Morant with 30 pts, 4 assists, 9 rebounds against Brooklyn. Whoever mentioned he was a chance for ROY, not a bad shout.
He and Barrett are going to get the most usage of the rookies. Zion misses any more than the 8 weeks he's scheduled to and I think it goes to one of those 2

If he gets back and plays 50 odd games, he'll get the media hype/votes.
