Carlton offered future 2nd and future 3rd - we said no.

We wanted 9 and a future second for Martin and 15.. hmm not so straight forward.

Cameron said they put forward quite a number of pick slides - ie 9 to us, and us giving Carlton back other picks which weren't accepted.

Pretty unhappy our clubs couldn't come to an amicable deal for Jack.

I mean he'll get to Carlton one way or another, but I would have preferred a mutually beneficial deal.

Jack Martin might want to stay after a year of growth and progression from Gold Coast and he has a better chance to assess his options.

If Rowell, Anderson and others kick on he might think its turning, Lukacious might decide to stick and Jack might reassess and think I will stay at Gold Coast for the moment!


Either way it gives Jack flexibility and does not cost Gold Coast in draft picks as Blues not offering anything anyway.

Jack can pick what he wants to do end of 2020.

Jack didn't really put much effort into making the club better himself
Not sure this was about him wanting out for more success - just wanting something different.

Inside word is that no one was going to be that disappointed to see him go. So not sure if that scenario works.

Well it's up to Jack
He can run around in the NEAFL on minimum contract next year and go to trade again or sit out or take a nice 3 year deal from us and start playing some footy again like we know he can

We can still resign I'm pretty sure on senior list because he hasn't fallen off yet.
