Who honestly thinks that someone like Langdon would have been happy sitting on his hands as our Plan B in case Gold Coast reneged on an offer in the last 30 mins of the trade period?

this paying overs for MM, what malarkey. If we can manage to hold onto to MM after this contract the guy will be a gun.LOL.......
SOS got bagged on BF because he paid overs for MM.
Now he gets bagged for not overpaying for Papley/Martin.
This place....................
Langdon like mentioned previously. Bonar would be better than picks in the 50s and 60s

I think the issue here is that you’re limiting plans B and C to the trade period. You do know that there are still numerous methods of bringing in players yes?So then persue targets that have a far higher % of being obtainable.
Nope, but we don't blow smoke up their arse for doing a fantastic job during the trade period.
We had a plan A, seem devoid of a plan B or C.

Maybe plan B is drafting a small forward to learn from Eddie...
On the other (slightly bigger) hand - we saw several other clubs just pay a bit overs (or a lot) for their men. In a day, week, month - nobody will care what they paid.
FMD - why didn't we trade pick 9 for Dustin Martin? (same answer as to why we didn't trade pick 9 to the swans for Papley)
So then we'll have two small forwards on out list.
Most clubs aren't that thin in a position.
a person inside the club has told me that Gold Coast are unlikely to pick up Martin in draft. They just wanted to send a message that they are going to be a hard negotiating team in the future. Not sure if Melbourne are interested in picking him up.
I hope you offered assistance. If you think you are having a bad, I just witness a poor lady fall over some stairs and dropped her $1 7-11 coffee.
Maybe we will take 2 or 3 or 4. How many till your tears dry up? lol
Which big free agents should we be going after next year. Just to name a few of the top of my head. Whitfield, Zac Williams, grundy
Melbourne certainly has the need for him, whether they have the cap space to match is another question.
I do not agree that we should be offering a $1M for 1 year deal. What happens if three months down the track he has a falling out with Teague/Cripps etc amd refuses to re-sign or extend.
In fairness, I haven’t read anywhere that we offered 9 on its own for Paps. Everything was with a second coming back. It’s entirely possible that SOS out a price and didn’t go above it.
I would be disappointed if we didn’t offer 9 on its own.
So you’re over your hissy fit Jooce?how the fu** are people still sooking about it even after going to bed? bunch of children
not on this boardThere's probably a position somewhere between taking up pitchforks and gulping down the Kool-Aid, don't you think, folks?
yep, took me 30 minutes afterwards, wouldnt that be normal to get over it?So you’re over your hissy fit Jooce?
Sydney said they offered 5 and 9 to Essendon. So it seems they would have been happy with what SOS offered if our meant they got Daniher. Offering 9 on its own wouldn’t have changed that.In fairness, I haven’t read anywhere that we offered 9 on its own for Paps. Everything was with a second coming back. He obviously really wants to play with us, we are not a good enough team yet to be passing up the opportunity on payers like him
