Toast Welcome to the Bulldogs Josh Bruce

ridiculous!

you mean ruck.

He does have a few hitouts to his name

https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/J/Josh_Bruce.html

I guess he'll be taking his turn in the ruck with Schache, Naughtons, Dunkley, Bont, Daniel etc.

It will be interesting to see what happens if English misses games. Now that we have so many mobile talls, will he play Trenners or Sweet, or pick a non-specialist ruck/rucks who are more versatile? I can't see Sweet getting a run unless he ups his fitness levels.

Trengove, surely. He was neck and neck during the pre-season as our no 1 ruck

Congrats on getting Bruce in the door, try not to play him in the ruck and don't let him play injured, he'll thrive with a better coach, midfield and attacking options around him, all of which you've got.

And I appreciate the supporters that have used this thread to welcome Bruce without needing to trash the Saints.

Best of luck next year.

Love his interview on Western Bulldogs Website. Comes across as a good humoured top bloke. Really excited to be at a successful club that’s played finals, won a premiership with such a young group and looking forward to finals which he’s never played ( someone thought we were a destination club). Sounds like he jumped straight over to our club once the season was over and has already built relationships at the club, while still respecting St Kilda for how they made him a player. Reckon we only pick up good blokes.

100% agree, he seems like a top fella. Great to have him on board. Not only do we now have a strong list of quality footballers, but it's the cherry on top that they all appear to be quality humans as well.

Yep, Josh does plenty of the community engagement stuff. He’s a good player to have ‘on brand’. Not a like Dahl type figure but still very very marketable.

Josh being an ex-Canberra boy means we'll get a lot of news about him. Already two stories in the Canberra Times this week. That's usually their annual quota on stories about the Dogs!

The downside of this phenomenon is there will be no end of stories covering the Green boys - also from Canberra - when they join GWS under "academy" zoning. One this year, one next year. Both top prospects.

Disappointed there is no saints fans in this thread congratulating us on the great trade we managed to make with them. And Saints fans wishing Bruce luck for the future.

Great acquisition and a bargain too. Welcome Josh Bruce and well done Sam Power :D

Josh is s fantastic addition to the club. A true power forward and a good guy from a good family.

Acquiring him is on par with bringing Barry Hall to the club, except this time we've got a team on the rise instead of in decline.
Haven't been this excited about a trade since Barry Hall. Will add plenty.
