She called it "Bowie vibes". WRONG.reckon our bec has jumped the galactic shark at the races today......
Yep, this is what P1ssed me off the most about it at the time, not only a rubbish 'sportsman' but too selfish to allow a chance at making a historical feat that would have never been equaled. Still, the only upside is that same history will show what an arseh*le he really was. An arseh*le of Historical proportions...The big deal of it was that Clarkson deprived the whole football world of a game where 2 players reached the 100 goal milestone in the same game. I don't think it's ever happened before, and with the way football has evolved, I can't see it ever happening now.
Clarkson's just a small-minded little ***t, and that night proved it beyond any doubt.

Would be a strange feeling if SOS left the club. Was kind of hoping he would always be at Carlton.

I call bs, I personally believe the guy won't leave until he's completed the job. Nearly there but not yet. I hope I'm right. Even then, I hope he stays to enjoy what he's built.Caro hasn’t had a contact at Carlton since we booted Trigg
Caro might be on the money this time..I would be surprised if our CEO would come to the conclusion that SOS should be doing better.
Young players he has drafted are showing signs of becoming really good players as they hit their typical maturity age. Tick.
His hit and miss rate are as good as the best of them. Tick.
Our rebuild seems to be on track. Tick.
He's had some really good mature age players show interest in coming to us only for things to be foiled by the AFL of all things and the players own club holding them for reasons outside of our control.
There are a lot of clubs out there who need to recruit to take the next step and failed to recruit anyone this trade period and no mention of them. Failed to get significant interest from players wanting to go to their club and then there are clubs who lost good players. Crickets.
By the time this year's draft is done, we will have recruited at least three senior players (Betts, Pittonett, Martin) for pretty much nothing and drafted at least one more talented youngster (Pick 9 and the rest).
I think it's a real credit to the club and SOS that guys like Martin, Wines, Paplet etc wanted to come to us. That's SOS' job, to get them wanting to come to us. If their respective clubs don't want to deal then that can't be helped.
Only if we get to the end of next season and find that these young midfielders can't play should we start to question our recruiting. We're under pressure for Dow, O'Brien, Stocker, Setterfield, SPS, Fisher, Kennedy and Cuningham to become good AFL players. Not all but most need to become good AFL players next year. Let's judge SOS on them.
We're probably going to get to the end of next year and find that Wines and Papley (among others) will be wanting to come to Carlton and we will likely get at least one of those deals done and we will also experience a fair group of young players maturing and becoming good players and Silvagni's position as recruiter will be looking solid.
Caro doesn't know what she's talking about, she's just doing her thing and writing negative sensationalist opinion pieces.

NOOOOOOO!!!!! This is the worst possible news! SOS has done a fantastic job and its now going to come to fruition. I dont think anyone could have done a better job to get us where we are in 4 seasons. Hes A+ for me with things he could control.Caro might be on the money this time..

If he steps away on his own accord I could live with it. But if there is even the slightest bit of being pushed out I will not be happy.Agree he has done a good job.
But the reality is he has two sons on our list and possibly a third next year.
This makes his tenure difficult and he may be happy to step away thinking he has put us on the right path.
Have heard the same.Caro might be on the money this time..
Funnily enough jack is one of the few post 50/ rookie picks that has actually worked out thus far, especially if you count Williamson as uncertain still. Think Sos has done well but the rookie draft/ late picks haven't been great and I get the sense that some higher ups in the club don't like the 'swings and misses' at trade period. Regardless of the reasons, unfortunately.SOS can leave whenever he wants. Nothing new in that.
Would be disappointed if we have gone back to the old Carlton where people on the board know better than the people hired for specialist roles. If he is pushed out for stupid reasons, the club will lose a lot of the hard won kudos from fans.
SOS has done a good job with the hand he was dealt. Don't care if his kids play for us, Jack has already proven a wise choice. Looking forward to how the others shape up.
