markov has a bit of upside, i think

agree but don’t know where it can be translated on field

seems to be going alright as a forward but can’t see him fitting into our side playing that particular role

will be interesting if they trial him somewhere else again over the pre season

he’s only contracted for one more year so if he dosent find a regular spot by the end of next season doubt he will stay with us

Anyway, he has to deliver next year.
Five years in the system is a generous run.
Would have delisted Menadue and Markov ahead of Moore.
Still, these guys are professional athletes and if they had not been informed that their contracts had been renewed by September they would assume that they were no longer required.
Hope to see Moore play at another club.

menadue was like ellis but heaps faster and a better kick...

moore is talented for mine. will find a spot on a list i reckon
Moore has got talent , no doubt , stiff he broke his foot and missed 12w this year , struggled like Rossy and stack to quickly find his mojo after that . A smart club would find a spot for him

Wouldnt be a bad pick up for the crows imo especially with Jenkins gone
Would play that full forward role well with tex playing chf taking the bigger stronger defenders

but it’s Adelaide so they will probably do something stupid

could still rookie him. Might be the eventual replacement for a Grimes type

They predicate the axing of Moore on the likelihood that Riewoldt and Lynch won't get injured.
Well, forwards get injuries too. Would have retained Moore as a back-up.
Whereas Menadue and Markov are replaceable, no great loss.

Chol and CCJ can cover the big boys or we can shuffle Caddy back forward off the wing where we have quite a few guys who can cover for

Markov threw a spanner in the works after he was trialed in the forward line.
He is really difficult to match up on and I still think he can make it.

would want to have a cracking 2020 given he’s out of contract then. We’ve trimmed the list so he’s next man up next year. Will get an opportunity no doubt

Everyone needs an undersized forward with horrendous goal kicking.

I would assume the delistings are partly due to salary cap pressure. That is why Miller was retained as he was on minimum wages. Menadue was on more and that is what got him I think. Towner I love, but he isn't AFL standard these days. Moore was unlucky with the timing of his injury and we obviously also have targets in the draft and need to make room.
I highly doubt the decision between the two came down to the difference in their wage. Itd be bugger all.

Im a little surprised. Thought it would've been the other way round.

Anyone know if we have any CatB rookies on our radar?
I remember a few months ago reading an article we were into a couple of Irish blokes but essendon has locked down one of them (the more promising if I remember correctly) but any word on anyone else

Menadue has been on the list for 5 years. Of course he is on substantially more than Miller who has been there for two. It’s not totally the reason but it comes into play. Every dollar counts at the moment as we are trying to squeeze in guys left right and centre.

What's done is done. It's too late now.
I just hope Moore finds a future at another club.
It's interesting because I spoke with a professional player, Collingwood supporter.
He said they deliberately had a relatively short defence last year to counteract our short forward structure.
I was hoping Moore was selected as second tall forward in the 2018 PF.
Not to be.
It's history now but they've jettisoned him and he deserves a second chance elsewhere.

They must be very close to the cap.
Was thinking Houli might retire at the end of 2020, but we don't know.
I would phase it progressively as Houli (2020), Rance (2021), Edwards (2022).
I hope we recruit Sam Walsh at the end of 2022, he would only be 22.
He wins the ball, can evade packs, and snaps goals from the boundary from outside 50.

For a legit answer, he is almost prodigy level for how athletic he is at his size. He'd be one of the quickest players on your list despite being nearly 2m tall. Very agile too, and is a solid unit. Has a really penetrating kick to go with it.

Honestly think he has the toolset to be an elite intercept KPD, having the size to go 1 on 1 with most key forwards, while also having the athleticism to drift off his man and intercept when needed (think Darcy Moore)
Miller is poor overhead, no good in a contest and basically can't get a kick.

Markov threw a spanner in the works after he was trialed in the forward line.

Poor man's TAB Stephenson.

Looks unlikely we will pick up anyone from NGA Academy. None of them played regularly in the NAB League.

Next years prospects look better, Ethan Baxter a KPD, Will Dwyer a midfielder plus possibly others. Probably will keep our powder dry for next year.
