Hong Kong surprisingly got themselves back in it after this, and although they have a poor NRR, they finish with Nigeria whilst UAE get Canada
HK getting through would be a underdog story and a half.
When did Oman become so dominant?
I've sort of been surprised as well, but as The Speaker says they have been building up. It just escaped the notice of myself, and apparently others. When did Oman become so dominant?
They were the best team at WCL Div 2 this year - only home ground advantage for Namibia stopped them from winning the lot. They've been building for a while.
I was looking at the age of their players with most being over 30, do they have a set up where there will sustained success or?
19/6 after four overs.PNG blowing this perfect opportunity here. 14/5
Ended up getting to 118 so at least it's defendable.PNG 6/19 now off only 4 overs
remember when Kenya were decent?
Plus Thailand in the women's and it gives a glimpse of what world cricket tournaments could/should be like if the Big Three pulled their heads out of their arses.PNG are into the World Cup! Great scenes!
I guess the subcontinent conditions help some of the other teams but i think PNG have surprised everyone. Netherlands have got through pretty easily and Ireland got a bit lucky. Scotland however seem really sluggish so far and only get one shot against the hosts.I really thought Scotlkand, ireland and Netherlands would dominate this tournament. Which shows how little I know. PNG a huge surprise, I knew they had been improving - but not to that extent.
Good to see it is tight among a few teams - even if it only T20.
They were in the last T20 world cup and even managed to beat Ireland. Being dominant is new, but they've been up there with the other top associates for a whileWhen did Oman become so dominant?
