This talent drain and poaching of GCS players has to stop!

Willing to make an exception for Rowell (and Martin) though ;)

Don’t worry if there is any danger that Carlton could recruit Matt Rowell after his first two years at Gold Coast, the AFL will make a a rule to to ensure we can’t recruit him, they’ll even make it retrospective.

Not sure about Danger. That may be Paddy Dow if he can calm his head down a bit. Just needs some consistency and to fill out a bit.

I'm expecting Liam to develop into more of a Sam Mitchell.
Good awareness, nice kick off both sides, decent size, bit of mongrel about him (no sniping though, thanks).
Just needs to build that tank.

Paddy will be a terrific player, as you suggested Twiggley. I know he would be a bit disappointed with his year, but he should really come on next season. How good would it be to get his brother Thomsom to our great club. Pretty sure we will have to do some pick swaps to achieve this.

I'm not sure he actually compared them as players in terms of playing the same sort of way, he just said he could be better than Dangerfield. Those aren't the same statement.

Dow is a better comparison in a like-for-like kinda way, but I don't think he'll get to those heights.

Good God I could imagine that trade.

SOS: "How about 2 top 10 picks?"
Cockroach: "Pfft. We've already got 6 of those. 2 zeroth rounders or no deal."

They'll take his passport when he gets to the Gold Coast. I hear that's part of the induction at GCS now.
Will we be low enough in 2021 to get Rowell through the PSD??

Certainly hope not....

Bugger it, I'm just going to say it.

If Cam Polson can grow a foot, add 15kg to his frame, add an inch and a half to each finger and get himself 'angry' by having to watch 2 seasons of 'Love Island', he could be the next Jono Brown.

Can see it. I've had Polson pegged as a Jono Brown type for a while.

Get to work Andrew Russell.

One of my work colleague's son is best mates with Matty Rowell.

She confirmed that he is a MASSIVE Blues supporter (as is her son), goes to heaps of our games etc.

We should definitely be in his ear already about joining us after his 2 year stint at the Suns.

Dylan Stephens a massive fan also. Hoping Adelaide would lose lots this year so we get a better pick according to his interview on The roadtothedraft podcast.

Two pre-seasons and a season in the VFL/AFL working on his endurance and the defensive side of his game will have Stocker ready to play AFL this year. He has shown he has neat skills, can find his own ball and won't shirk anything. Fully expecting 12-15 games from him this year.

I know we never have a full list, however I am looking forward to a change of luck (touch wood) and seeing a lot more of the following players, who all played limited games in 2019:
  1. Doc
  2. Williamson
  3. Jones
  4. Charlie
  5. Stocker
  6. Kruez
  7. Marchbank
That's seven pretty handy players PLUS Eddie, Newnes & Martin.
And Cunningham

Cracks aside, just image how difficult it is for these top elite talents to be coerced to play the game that they love, at an expansion club with miserable tiny crowds.
Thousands of kms from their families.

Not sure what you are basing this on. He hasn’t played many senior games. He could be anything and only time will tell where he ends up....hopefully better than danger. We know he has mongrel so that’s a great start as that is something we are lacking atm.

I’m “basing this on” the fact that Danger is a terrible kick.

Stocker doesn’t have to be very good to be better...........

Talking about “image” reminds me someone earlier wrote on here that the GCS top and colours are not going to suit Matt Rowell - I think they said he would look like Ronald McDonald which isn’t far off haha

Poor kid is the best in the country for his age and not only does he have to play in front of small crowds and do his own laundry but he has to look ridiculous in those colours

Ok no problem..I haven’t checked stats but I don’t recall him being a terrible kick when watching the cats play.

I guess the important thing for us is the development of stocker. Can’t wait to see him playing regularly in the seniors.

Depends on personality types. My family has always been extremely close yet I always wanted to get out of the house the second I could afford to and I still struggle to understand how young people don’t. For me it feels like they are giving up their best years. I also couldn’t think of anything worse then being in the public eye so a northern club would suit me perfectly.

Yep. We mock kids for wanting a trade after 1, 2 or 3 seasons.

But if you were drafted by a team at the bottom of the ladder, with poor facilities, weak coaches and you were losing by 10 goals every week......as if you wouldn't want to be traded somewhere (anywhere) else.....
