Agree. LOB plays that selfless role of running wingman on the fat side. Not sure he’s great at it, but Newnes is an instant improvement.
Still waiting to see what role Cuningham can play at the level.

Zac Jones is what St Kilda need, and he’s got a supreme point of difference with his speed, but his footy IQ is just so-so and he’s got a tendency to make some shocking decisions.
I think he’s an upgrade in terms of his game style will benefit St Kilda, but I think Newnes is a better player overall.
Decent result getting him for free, than having to sacrifice draft picks ala Jones, too. Contrasts the mentality of each list manager.

Why does it have to be a competition? Both sides got players they were aiming to get and hopefully they both give great service to their respective clubs. It's irrelevant who's better as they weren't direct trade swaps and we don't need to find a victor of a trade...
On a side note: I would have thought a player who has played 150 games and is a life member of a football club wouldn't be treated with such vitriol. It's fine to assess a players deficiencies but also pay credit where it's due.

Neither of these guys are necessarily lethal by hand or foot, so stats do tell part of the story...err...bro. Very similar over their careers, with Newnes finding a little more ball, averaging a few more goals and goal assists.
Jones appears to run a bit harder and straighter, ranks a few pegs higher in metres gained. Certainly nothing to suggest one is vastly superior to the other.
Only difference is Newnes is coming off a down year, Jones likely had his best.
