He was last year as well, perhaps the pressure got to him.

Well he's largely been within 0.5s of Max in Q3 whereas Gasly frequently struggled to stay within 1s iirc

I'm more thinking along the lines that he hasn't dropped his bundle completely. I find it funny that his results haven't been much different at Toro Rosso

Seems like with McLarens improvement this year, 9th is the new 7th ?
Good result anyway, but it highlights how Renault have regressed this year.
Does this mean we have a Formula 1.5 and Formula 1.75 title now as well ?

Only seems to be qually pace Mclaren have over Renault though. Difference really has been on the harder tracks to overtake Mclaren pinch more points due to better qually positions.

Daniel just needs to dominate Ocon next year and hope Merc/Ferrari want to replace one of their drivers, waiting for 2021 changes and hoping Renault get it right is more a pipe dream.
