MCG tenants on Grand Final day

What did you do that rebuked(sic) the fact that you beat noone bar the bottom five and port?

Were you the one that whined that you only missed beating gws by a few points?

I cant remember - ive seen so much backwards arse brainfart logic by richmond fans trying to justify the fact that they couldnt even beat bottom ten teams a hop skip and a jump down the road at etihad - its hard to keep track.

In 2018 if the eagles only beat the bottom five and port interstate - we’d have finished 11th and missed finals.

But yeah - go ahead - knock yourself out -

Heres some data for you :

Richmond ladder who they lost to away from the mcg:

LLLL= lost ****= win

Adelaide LLLL

Geelong. LLLL

Richmond

GWS LLLL

Port adelaide ****

Sydney (LLLL at mcg)

Essendon

West coast

Melbourne

Western bulldogs. LLLL

St kilda. LLLL

Hawthorn

Collingwood

Fremantle **** (LLLL at mcg)

Bottom 4

North ****

Carlton ****

Gold coast ****

Brisbane ****

Yep that’s the one. A couple of close questionable losses to the top teams and beat the rest. What’s the problem?

If I were you I’d be more focused on your own mob, rather than your misguided attitude towards Vics. It’s funny when you’re the only one arguing your side and getting rebuffed by everyone else who know that you’re just a whiny mutt on Chris Scott level. Btw, that HGA at Optus went great against the hawks this year

Mate you dont mystically get super powers of winning away from home just because its a granny.

Spend some time on an interstate clubs board - we know what it takes to win interstate as weve found out the hard way.

Teams that dont win games interstate all year dont go on to be stars at it in finals.

Look at the dogs in 2016 - beat sydney (1st) and adelaide (5th) away interstate.

Next thing you know they are winning finals interstate.

Nearly half our games are interstate - look at 2018 and the thread when we first met collingwood at the g - almost without fail we were using that game as our litmus test for the season. Dont win that - or at least be so competitive that it came down to the last few seconds then we were pretenders.

You guys dont analyse your teams interstate form anywhere near as much as we do by virtue if the fact that you just dont have to.

You could sent your vfl team to all your interstate games and still make top four based on winning vic games.

Oh no!! The little Weagles have to travel #littlekrankybitchsyndrome

Mate we lost to richmond in 2017 by about ten points.

We didnt sit there wankfingering our pooshoots about coming close or nearly.

we lost - teams tend to lose more close games and blowouts away from home.

Thats why they call it a home ground advantage

Thats also why they dont call it a homeground advantage except for when you only win by a bit.

you lost against every single decent team away from home all year.

We want a neutral venue/ rotated venue for gf NOT a flag every year.

Sorry if we didnt explain that very well

Hopefully this clears it up.
Oh you’ve been whinging about a lot more than that.
And they are more likely to be won on your home ground.
As mentioned earlier: The Crows would have beaten Richmond at the G in early 2017.
You see mate: Premierships aren’t won in March or April or May or even August. They’re won in late September.
Although I do concede that it’s really unfair and that wins against Richmond at any time of the year, including pre season games, should count as premierships.
Geelong and Collingwood supporters already do.
Keep lobbying for Crows to do the same :thumbsu:

Except Port, and arguably GWS if score review hadn’t bent us over. But it’s ok, we got a cup to prove our dominance

And yet here we are

In a thread choc a bloc full of mcg tenants trying desperately to deny they have any advantage to playing the ultimate game of the season at their home ground.

It's not an advantage to tenants, especially when they play other tenants.

So it might be a disadvantage to non tenants, but not always...

Yet somehow the three top contributors to this thread are all West Coast supporters.

Yep, slight advantage, but offset by losing out on HGA throughout the year (hence why non-Vic teams + Geelong have a better chance of making finals). Swings and roundabouts my friends. But no doubt you’ll ignore this and keep whining about big Vic clubs until you’re old and grey (and no one will give a * then either)

You mean the offset that saw us play 4/4 top four teams interstate vs collingwood and richmonds 1/3

That huge leg up?

We play all of the the top 4 interstate 4/4

Richmond plays one of the top 4 interstate and obviously cant play itself 1/3

Collingwood play one of the top 4 interstate and obviously cant play itself 1/3

You guys are effectively whining that you have to play the top teams at home with no advantage - where we play the top teams interstate with a major disadvantage.

Tell me more about our huge leg up in the home and away season

How about next season? Our draw has already been rated the hardest of all the teams.

Next year we are travelling 71000 km - before finals

You seem to forget that you are in a minnow state, which has only 1 top team.

Of course, that's why many of your interstate opponents are top teams!

2017 we played 1,2,4,5 away (we finished 3rd). We still won the flag. And you’re basing the hardest draw bs off champion data which is a champion at being unreliable af

It doesnt take away from the fact that your wank about an easy draw getting us finals is just that ..... wank

Next year again we play 4 games again against top 4 (from 2019) interstate

in two seasons we will have played 8 games against top four teams vs richmonds 2 interstate

Four times as many top four opponents interstate in two seasons

50000km travel and 70000km travel excluding finals and you have the absolute arse to say we get an easy draw?

Ah, I get it now. He is using the fantasy football stats to argue in real life.

You realise you lost all but one of those games?

Luckily for you - your team can literally send the reserves team to away matches or just concede them - and still finish top 4

if we won away matches like you guys wed have come 11th in 2018

If you are trying to convince people you have it hard and we get it easy id try some different tactics

All Richmond can see is 17 bottom teams mate.

Your mob are closer to the top of that 17, I'll give you that.

There is no doubt that the Tigers are worthy premiers but I think it's a long way off saying streets ahead. The Eagles losing to hawthorn in round 23 gifted them a top 4 spot. Not their fault of course but it turned a very anticipated final series into a walk in the park for the tigers.
Yes they looked streets ahead but their main two challengers thought it was all to hard when it mattered and fell over.
You do realise Richmond would’ve been top 4 regardless if west coast lost or not.
