Is an absolutely brilliant novel, i couldnt put it down. Is about a cop who goes back to his old outback hometown, as there was a grisly murder (dude killed his wife, and young son ((left the baby tho))- but was it really him?) and 2 stories run together. The present, and another storyline during his childhood/teenage years.

Is very good.

That's not how I remember the book. You sure you have the right one?
There are a couple of storylines but the main guy (Ben Affleck in the movie) ran a pub, his wife spots him having an affair and plots a way of framing him for her murder. Fakes her murder and dissapears......

Am not saying its the greatest novel ever written- but as someone who only likes true crime (never fictional crime) the fact I couldnt put it down says something. Her second novel tho was ok. (could have been alot better tho- had the same main character but completely different setting/plot), and then the third I put down and never picked up again.

That chance has been and gone imo. They no longer benefit from the institutional and scientific advantages they had over more traditional football powers, especially in Europe
