Interested in thoughts on the Federal Government's farmers drought bail out. Can't recall any bail outs for the local car and textile manufacturing industries, nor the countless jobs lost due to automation. Any bail outs for the taxi industry or those also disrupted be new technology? The irony of the rural and regional sector bleating about the worst drought on record is that their electorates prop up the Coalition that is dominated by climate change deniers. I'm sorry, but would prefer our taxes spent more wisely.

Can't eat cars.

Correct again. Imagine being so pathetic you can't stop yourself from masturbating for 1 entire month...

I don't even watch pr0n. How could you be one of those guys that knows the name of pornstars (not counting those types that try to transition into other careers etc.)

I can never quite get the whole "no" this & that concept. Things like "Movember" are grandiose, virtue signalling exercises facilitated by complete w***ers. Just give some money/time to whatever cause, then go about your business as usual.

Pet rocks. Bet you they make a fortune.

Marketing fail!

Rocks are fairly permanent. You only sell one once.

100 mls of "Unicorn Tears Sparkle Spray TM" requires an entire hour of Rusty Buckets BF online outrage in order to gather enough tears.

Marketing win!

There's one called Taryn Thomas!!!

There's a thing called "dry July" where people don't drink in July.

Its not a cause, more of a thing that comes round too fast for some people. I don't drink enough to bother with it myself.

No Nut November is a waste of time tho. You could chop all those people's hands off and they'd still be a big pack w***ers.

Car industry was one of the most heavily-subsidised industries we had. And even when it closed down, Governments put hundreds of millions of dollars into training and other assistance for auto workers and downstream businesses.

And taxi plate owners are receiving payouts from state governments after Uber was allowed.
The car industry was also our only real heavy manufacturing industry, and now it is gone.

So every car that used to be manufactured in Australia had a flow on effect of injecting cash and subsequent tax revenues back into the country. Now, all of that is gone. Every car now sees a percentage of that heading straight out of the country, less tax raised, less employment, higher social security (all all of the flow on effects of that).

It was a short sighted attack on the unions that led to consequences that will be felt for decades to come.

It would not suprise me to find out, that since the demise of the car industry, that the economy has been on the slide ever since. We are a nation of idiots ruled over by a bunch of campaigning scoundrels.

* yeah.

It devastated our manufacturing industry base.

On top of the economic damage and the potentially huge increase in the underclass it damages our ability to be self sufficient.

We're a small population on a huge empty chunk of land on the other side of the world from everyone else. We are one nuclear terrorist incident in a major Northern hemisphere city (or any other serious Black Swan) away from the collapse of global trade networks and if that happens what will we do for transport and parts?

Its hard to get your head around the short sightedness of all this. The car industry was always gonna face these issues. Ever since Keating. We needed to build some other industry in its place - solar power and then e vehicles for example - as soon as we were exposed to the international car market. Its keeps people employed but it also keeps the expertise we need to be able to make and build things we use in the country. Knowledge goes if you don't use it.

38mm in the last 24hrs. Looks like plenty more coming on the radar.

What i would give for that right now.

We've regularly had 10x that much rain in 24 hours before but I think we've had less than 38mm since Brad was coach.

Whistle blowers shouldn’t have to be made public, they should be protected. Have a look at what happens to them when they are made public...

Australia is terrible at dealing with whistle blowers. Are you across the ex ASIO bloke who blew the whistle on the way the Australian spy’s bugged the Timor government to screw them as much as possible for oil and gas prices? The whole thing was overseen by Alexander Downer who just happened to get a job with the company that benefits the most from that dodgy deal.

This is why whistleblowers should have protections. they should have the right for wrongful determination and should be awarded massive payments.. not returned back to their workplace.

anonymous is a dangerous political game. if you’re prepared to leak you better be able to back up why.

Obviously these men find Thunberg triggering. But why?

forget about the car industry, any major trade disruption and our 20 day fuel buffer will be exhausted and you wont be able to run em anyway.

What a way to be welcomed back to Australia - billboard advertising Sexpo this weekend!

I snort out laughter, junior in the back wakes up and the wife gives me an almighty death-stare.

Zondor are you exhibiting?
I don't need Sexpo to be exhibiting my friend. :stern look

gonna be a bloody late brunch today, still waiting for the missus to get home with the black pudding after going to the beauty salon, and our pommy friends who got in yesterday dead to the world still copping the full effects of jet lag.

Typically I agree but not with no nut November. The push towards pr0n and masturbation is typical of modern society. As explained in the video - monkeys in the wild barely masturbate because they are too busy. In containment, they go touch themselves. About awareness. Sure masturbation is good but don't be pathetic and do it at every opportunity and start obsessing over pr0n. Real experiences with real people not ethots or pr0n stars that make you masturbate into a tissue. Teen = discovery. Adult = a bit pathetic.

It's no surprise that people have latched on to it saying those that don't are bad, toxic masculinity, *same old garbage*

The most interesting (but not surprising) is the msm teaming up to control stories. Whistleblowers always lose their jobs, that part actually makes sense from a practical pov.

Read this article about what our government did to Timor-Lest (an ally fwiw). Disgraceful
