Our elite young base is not broad enough yet to be flittering away two first round draft picks. De Goey, largely a forward now because of a questionable fitness base, turns us from a 12th team into a bottom 8 team tops. No thanks.

Top 8 side perhaps? He is a huge upgrade on some our incumbents. Perhaps our elite young base would be further improved by adding an elite young player like De Goey to it

I'm not saying he wouldn't get a gig in our team or anything, but I've seen no evidence that De Goey has the run and ability to play full time long term in the midfield - and that's what we need. The idea that he is being forced out of the midfield by their abundance of riches... I'm a bit meh on that personally. It might be true, but I believe in what is in front of us - as it stands he's a very dangerous mid sized forward and should not be a priority for us. At the right cost, absolutely but doubt we'd now be first in line.
So, are we getting him or not?
