Benny's original plan was zero debt. 75K members and a flag. He should be sacked. We got nowhere near it....;) Although in his defence that was the 5 year plan. So he's off the hook

Monster club. Will go close to having the highest turnover of any club, need to see what west coast releases.
Quite simply, an amazing result and with 24.4 mill in cash reserves the club is awash with money.

Off-field the Club is reporting a profit of $4.1 million for the financial year ended October 31. The Club generated total income of $92.2 million, which represented an increase of 16% year-on-year. The Club is in a very sound financial position with cash reserves of $24.4 million.

INCOME:
Revenue from contracts with customers 91,423,509
Income from grants 500,000
Interest revenue 321,266
TOTAL: 92,244,775

PROFIT: 4,112,768
TOTAL ASSETS: 59,697,480

• The Club attracted average home crowds of 59,987, which was the highest home crowd
average in the AFL. This is the third year running we have been number one.
• Total home and away and finals attendance of 1.35 million (2nd in the AFL).
• Our marquee matches again delivered excellent attendances – Season Opener (85,016),
Dreamtime (80,176), ANZAC Eve (72,704).
• Six of the ten biggest crowds for the year were matches featuring our team.
• We had a total TV audience for the season of 20.46 million – the largest TV audience in the

Great to see we are expanding into the Leisure and Community sector which will bring in more fans. Increased revenue has allowed us to spend an extra 10M in this area.

Not suggesting it's a problem because any meaningful analysis requires more than 2 years of figures (and the notes), however our Revenue grew about 15% yet the bottom line fell 2.3%, which is not a big fall, but some bottom line growth off 15% more turnover might have been nice.

There must be some significant investment going on to grow one line of expenses (Health Fitness and Community) by a whopping 70%. Notable are the additional finance costs on leased assets. Hopefully there is more Income growth to come off the same or similar expenses.

Also Finance and Admin costs increased 20% off that 15% Revenue growth. Hopefully that gap closes a bit too.

Health, Fitness and Community is Aligned Leisure costs. As AL wins contracts, we absorb costs associated with managing leisure assets of the contracted entity, such as staff, maintenance and consumables. Revenue from such contracts is grouped in Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
Finance and Admin also increases as we grow administrative infrastructure to manage AL growth. It’s amazing but with the AL business, we are one of the biggest employers in the AFL. Geelong with their catering business are up there as well. So our administration resource needs grows to manage contracts, Human Resources etc.

And remember folks, we are a not for profit entity existing in a competitive landscape that requires us to make mandatory spends on salary and soft cap. You cannot apply a private entity lens of revenue growth translating to margin and profit growth. We invest revenue growth on our strategic aims.
