Rick, respectfully, what do you propose someone in my situation does differently?

I hate our game style, I hate selection and I hate the foreboding of another crushing loss every time I attend, made worse by the fact I can't afford to buy my kids some hot chips and a drink at half time, which is the only reason they go because they don't watch the game. Packing them sandwiches and bottled water from home doesn't cut it. I've forked out for 6 memberships every year.

I've emailed Matt Richardson. I've emailed KT. I've attended member information sessions. I've voted for Board elections. I've reached out to past players and Board members on Twitter. I've had face-to-face conversations with legends of the club and willed them to help.

What more do you want me to do? I'm no longer throwing money at my club, a club that no longer cares what I think. I care for the club deeply, it's just not my club anymore. How do you propose I support? Just shut up and pay my money?
Downgrade your seating and still go.
Son and I downgraded and it has cost them $230.
Make them smart in the hip pocket, but still show your face.
This is the watershed year, when our fate may be determined for the next 10 years.
I personally want to observe this situation.
If you see a cancer don't avert your eyes. You do not seem to be the sort to sit in the corner muttering, "Bad show... Bad show". Keep up the letter writing, keep up the assault on the senior management.
Perhaps you can do this on behalf of the "Quiet Australians" that our beloved national leader speaks of.
Maybe for one more year, if Hinkley gets the nod again.
If the wheels come completely off this will be the year. While we are mid table, only the stress fractures are showing.
I want to see who stands up on the field and who will become our leaders, beside Travis Boak - and in spite of pitiful coaching leadership.

The club is now a mere facsimile of what it once was and in my opinion nothing will change with the arrogant campaigners running the show unless we as members and supporters force that change, so if enough of us don't renew then even Koch should eventually get the message the club isn't his personal play thing and he and his minions can either shape up, or better still F*** OFF.

if you love your club and don’t want it suffering too much, get a club non game membership. Take out a small sponsorship that costs $500,by Some merch.
Did you even read his email? I'm fairly sure if someone says that they can't afford it and have young children they can't drop a lazy $500 on sponsorship. Not everyone can afford to rescue a business that is intent on driving itself into the dirt.

Perhaps some other local businesses should drop a lazy $50K on the club because they can. If only we knew such a business!!

No-one here is opting out because we're not winning, but because they seek change. Because I'm so indecisive, I'm still on the fence, but I don't have seats at risk. FWIW, like most here, I had no issue renewing in 2011/12.

Stop trying to be football expert, Purchase your member ship and cheer on the professionels.
The sarcasm is strong with this one.

Hopefully.

lol you're all kidding yourselves if you think your membership makes one bit of difference. I know damn well any money i give to the club goes to the SMA, the SANFL and everyone but Port Adelaide.

Waste of time, but I do like buying rights to abuse Bonner for weak efforts and KH for being a coke swilling flog.

That said, even if my money was was going 100% to the club - i'd be just as angry that it got spent on plans for a ******* hostel at my ******* home ground.

11,600 needed in 17 days to be on par with last year I think.

It's tracking at 111 a day since the last update 8 days ago. If it keeps on that trajectory, in 17 days we'll only add less than 2000, meaning a total of around 34,000. That's close to 10,000 down on the same time last year. Wow.

You reckon the arrogant "we know best" clowns in charge are feeling it now?

I said it before and I'll say it again, sacking Hinkley was the cheaper and more prudent option.

It’s clear it was never going to of happened even if they did the sums - I’m sure they have factored it in.

If Hinkley was off to GC in 18 on a handshake and we made him stay then both parties are going to stay the course, we blinked and Ken rightly so is sticking to his contract.

Ken seems to be out of the media at the minute, the club is aware of the Kay if the land and really has to sit tight.

I would think the AFL would of been aware of the potential for a loss of membership $, maybe they suggest we will help you deal with that if it happens but your not sacking Ken?

They seem like gamblers at the casino. Constantly hoping the next roll will win them back.

I bet if you sat in on a convo right now they would be saying. 3 first round picks. The excitement of those will win them back.

I don't think either Port or the AFL thought it would be this bad. I know for a fact that the club in the past few years has had the attitude that when push comes to shove, they'll sign up. This year though, it's different. The dissatisfaction is at fever pitch and it isn't dissipating. The supporter base is completely fed up and willing to act on it.

Both the AFL and Port have underestimated it and by the time it became apparent it was too late to do anything about it. The time to sack Hinkley was directly after the season finished. At that stage the true drop in member numbers was not clear. They thought the 150th would be the saviour and buy them time - it hasn't.

If this regime was a government or a business board, they would have all been turfed out by now.

They're doubling down and hoping that the propaganda campaign being waged by friendlies in the media will stem the tide.

They have been ignoring the discontent of the supporter base and now that that discontent is being reflected in reduced memberships it is too late to do anything about it.

A few years ago someone at the club told me that the club had in place systems/programs to ensure we always have 60k+ members. They didn't elaborate. I guess this season will see if those systems are up to the challenge.

We will be pushing to crack 40k for 2020, let alone making 60k.

Kochie’s probably taken a leaf out of the DNC’s corrupt Superdelegate playbook. A single Koch family member’s membership is worth 10,000 regular person memberships.
