The Daniher clan would be most impressed with the sentiment ...
Difference being Brown is a role player who is uncontracted and been on 1 year deals for the last two years.

Joe is contracted and one of the higher paid players at the club. Odd comparison, really

Brown took 96 marks this season, 8 contested. McKernan by contrast was 38 of 81.
Play completely different roles. Brown covers 16km a game and runs his guts out. Injuries have prevented him getting any real strength in those shoulders. He runs hard, leads well and is a beautiful kick. What he isn't is a pack mark and he relies on reasonable disposal as he is smart on the lead. He offers something different and in the right game plan could be reasonablw

Yep there is definitely a role for a hard-running forward who presents repeatedly in most AFL sides. My hope is that this means that the club is confident Stewart is right now.

Brown does his best work moving into space and relies on smarts. Doesn’t really use his height at all
Ah ok. I haven’t watched him too closely. I doubt they’ll be fighting for the same spot thoigh. I’d think Brown would be fighting it out with the likes of Weideman Petty Preuss. With Tmac number one forward.
Hannan back fit will be a bonus. Much needed speed in the forward half.

Don't be seduced by his size (196cm/93kg), he is a more agile player than that who does his best work on the move rather than standing still.

He played his best football on long leads rather than inside 50 so don't expect huge returns on the goal frontage. His best was the 21 from 16 games in 2019. Still, a handy link up player who could allow your smaller players like Melksham, Petracca, Fritch to play an even more mobile game.

When looking at this in isolation, the Demons are essentially just replacing Tim Smith with a similar wanting player. Smith had a better contested mark, Brown the smarter player it seems. Will be interesting to see how Brown is used by the Demons. Good luck to him and the Dees

Impressive that Brown spent 3 or 4 years at Tulla and never found his way inside the gym.
He probably couldnt give directions if someone asked him where it was located.

Imagine how good he could be when he actually starts some weight training.

Bloke might kick 60 goals next season.

Probably something to do with repeated shoulder injuries and staying light enough to maintain his tank (greatest strength).

Yes yes. Ive heard this old chestnut before.
Bomber mythology. Like Dodoro.

There are two types of truth. Actual truth and Bomber 'truth'.

Plenty of AFL players have had serious shoulder problems and still managed to find ways to build some body strength. Chris Judd and Gary Ablett Jr come to mind.

Sounds like you've made up your mind so there's little use engaging in further discussion.

what a dick

One of only 4 players to have managed to reach 400 games didn't ever manage to bulk up, that never stopped him from playing to a decent level. Grow up

What about the 5 years at Geelong? Whatever the reason is I doubt he’s lacking muscle through lack of effort.

I don’t really see a lack of size as his issue anyway as he’s not getting monstered by opponents. His issue is he isn’t athletic and can’t beat opponents with speed or agility.

Brown is pretty much a slower Jack Gunston who can’t jump.

When he went to geelong when he grew about 20 cm the year before he was drafted. Watched him in his early vfl games and he was marking everything in sight and had some games where he would kick 7/8 goals. Unfortunately he suffered horrific leg break followed by multiple shoulder surgeries. The bloke has a bit of pain and struggles at time to get his hands above his head. He has now worked on his fitness and changed his game to be able to play afl at times covering 15km a game. While he is no world beater, I think you need to give him a bit more credit

Has also had a ton of soft tissue injuries. The fact he has managed to eek out 70 games at AFL level is a testament to his perseverance.
